Stopped in yesterday for some fresh bread. The price was right and I picked up a lobster tail and Napoleon pastries which were fine. They had biscotti that looked pretty good also. I’d go back.

Bleck! Everything I’ve tried had the same nasty rancid oil taste. The pastries are pretty but after one bite, my kids wouldn’t even eat them. The place smells just as bad. Totally unfriendly and as you can see by the picture, lacks any visual appeal.

I have just moved here to Winthrop and was looking for a bakery, the only reason I gave it only 3 stars is not because it isn’t good it because I thought it was closed down. I heard today that it was quite good and open, I look forward to visiting. I think maybe signage needs to be revamped! See you soon

Perhaps their bread is good, but their cookies and pastries are both overpriced, and not good tasting at all. That’s a huge disappointment. Although I am in Winthrop often, I’d rather drive out to Toretta’s Bakery in East Boston than buy anything here.

The pizza here has a cult like following, and u either love it or hate it. I love it! The sauce is semi sweet and the crust is oily and crispy. It has no cheese. I have gone here since I was a kid over 20+ years, and I always like the big chocolate chip cookie to wash down the pizza. For a buck a slice, u really can’t go wrong

Just found a spider in my cold pizza from this place. The one in east Boston had roaches running through the case a few years back too NEVERAGAIN!

My stomach is very happy right now. I just had my first slice of legendary Sicilian pizza from Twin Bakery. I read about it here and knew where to go for lunch. Wow. I took a bite of it in the store while the rest of my order was being packaged and almost had the whole thing down before I left. So good. The sauce was the best tasting Sicilian ever, drizzled with olive oil yet semi sweet. Yum! I went around 1pm and there was about a half a large square pizza left. There were loads of sweets too. There were cupcakes, cookies, biscotti, cheesecake, home made ricotta pie. Wow. So I got 2 cupcakes, a small cannoli, and a chocolate chip cookie to go. So I can now say that I outdid finding the cheapest full size cupcakes in Boston again. The cupcakes here are .75cents! I found some for 85cents a couple weeks ago and these are now the lowest priced I’ve seen at any bakery in the Boston area. The cupcakes were large and way better then I expected. The cake has substance. The vanilla and chocolate were almost like a pound cake texture. It holds up and is not dry. It was not the spongy mix I usually expect. Good cake and the frosting was the whipped kind that’s piped on top with a lemon hint. The baby cannoli was good. I’ve had better but the filling was up there. Cookie was old fashioned, hard and sweet. The place is so vintage inside which adds to its charm. The older gentleman behind the counter was one of the owners, I found out here he is a twin so its appropriately named Twin bakery. He told me he was finishing up and his brother would be in to finish the day. So all together for a square slice of pizza, 2 cupcakes, cannoli, and a big cookie, $ 5! He also stocks some imported stuff like olive oil, pasta, bread crumbs, even Nutella!

Yes the twins are still alive. My dad(who is from Eastie) said of them today«…which is amazing, they STILL look exactly alike… because they are… twins…» enough said. I had their pizza today — it has been forever since I’ve eaten there and I couldn’t tell you why. The sicilian slice is amazing. The crust is just right. So simple, yet MMM! pizza perfection. I could probably buy up one of each thing in the store. It is amazing. I have to bring everybody I know here. Like Deborah H. said — the best time to get the pizza is EARLY cause it doesn’t last long.

Everyone has their own idea of what makes great pizza. Some swear by Santarpios while others prefer Regina. When i am looking for a slice that makes my mouth water, I look no further than Twin Bakery in Winthrop. Twin Bakery(which is just that– a bakery– no seating) offers the most delicious Sicilian pizza there is this side of the boot. It is absolute perfection– from its cheeseless sauce topping(featuring the perfect amount of tomatoes and the perfect amount of olive oil) to its buttery crust. We recently had a «bring a special treat to work day while we pack for our move» and my Twin Bakery pizza was a hit and I am the most popular girl at work. At only $ 1 a slice, you cannot go wrong with the price(worth paying the Ted Williams toll to get to Winthrop). The only warning I give you is that they make a limited amount a day, so I would suggest getting there before noon.
