If you like kids running around everywhere, sitting in your room and listening to a herds of elephants(kids) running in the hallway and in the room above, high priced everything– then this is the place for you! Never again!

Stayed at Mt. Olympus but enjoyed Kalahari’s waterpark and theme park on Valentine’s Day. No kids, just me and my Gf. Absolutely loved the swim up bar, spent most of the day there, and bathrooms are conveniently placed right outside of it. Theme park rides looked fun but we mostly played the Arcade games then played pool upstairs. As a serious pool player I wish they had better tables, balls, and cues but understand why it’s not a priority. Took advantage of our huge refill cups we got at the mud hut($ 27 to get, $ 19 to refill.) Bartenders at both bars were very friendly. Had a delicious burger to close out our night. Already planning a trip for 4th of July weekend.

Not well staffed. Lots of fun things to do but everything took forever. I expected more for the price. Took forever to get food and drinks everywhere we tried in the entire resort. Kids did have fun but again every ride in theme park took forever. Rooms were small and had inadequate lighting. I don’t see us returning.

As far as a convention venue, this place was overall pretty good. Food was decent, meeting rooms are nice and fairly easy to locate. The water parks are nice, but nothing you can’t get at any other water park in this area. I can see it being really nice for people who don’t want to leave a resort in this area because there are many restaurants(that all have pretty sub-par food), shops, entertainment, bars, etc. But the whole point of the Dells is to go look at kitschy tourist traps, and you won’t get that at Kalahari alone. Also, the noise level at night is pretty bad, so if you’re a light sleeper, good luck. Apparently parents are cool with their kids running amok at midnight? Mt. Olympus is probably a better value, but I could also see this being great during the winter because there is a lot to do indoors and you don’t have to go outside to get to any of it.

We have visited a couple of times over the past year. We have had a great experience each time. This and the wilderness resort are the only places to stay in the Dells that we would recommend.

Did not stay overnight, visited the waterpark resort. First off, the restaurant PUB bar food was overpriced and not tasty. Go to the Mac & Cheese spot down the street. Delicious. Especially if you have kiddos! Secondly, we went to the amusement park, bought wristbands, thought they were for the pool. We found out they were not when we tried entering the waterpark. Oh man, with a screaming excited 2 year old, don’t make the same mistake we did! The indoor waterpark is bigger to Chula Vista and offers a variety of fun for adults and kids. To a bar, to roller coaster water slides. Bathrooms were closed in the waterpark locker rooms which sucked!(Womans) They were getting repaired. I’d come here again if I can go to the indoor/outdoor combined waterparks. *Lifeguards let me go down the appropriate slides for me and my 2 year old. Awesome. Life jackets provided! Chula Vista did not let me! KALAHARI all the way! Come here on a week day if you can! Not a weekend! Oh – and bring socks for your little one. They offer a free play climb land for kids in the game room. Sweet!

Kalahari was our son’s first experience with the Wisconsin Dells and he loved it. I have also been here several times before we had our son too. Its a great place for kids and adults. We like the big raft ride, our son calls it the family ride because we can all go on it together. Their kid area is nice and big with a bunch or smaller slides with 2 big ones at the top. We must have gone off season one time and we were upgraded to a 2 room suite for just the three if us and that was a pleasant surprise. Another time we went for a wedding and we got a two room suite on ground floor right down from the check in desk and it was super loud all night. Now if we book I know to ask for a room higher up. They are a little more expensive then other resorts in the area but definitely worth it. I know what we are going to get when we go and I’m never worried about having a bad experience.

This is a situation where I really wish they gave you the option to pick zero stars. I’m trying to remember the last time I dealt with this poor of customer service and I honestly can’t recall. These guys are such a business that they completely inflexible about any of their policies even if it tremendously inconvenient for the customer. Case in point, my wife and family drove separate and arrived two hours before me. So you would think I could just call and add her name to the room. Oh no, We had to fill out a form which I had sign and I also had to take a picture of my license and credit to send in with the signed form. Keep in mind I’m traveling and don’t really have access to a scanner. So inconvenient and absolutely would not waiver from their policy. Second example: My wife had rented a movie for the kids and it clearly stated that you can watch the movie until midnight the following evening. The kids fell asleep while watching the movie and when we went to watch it the following evening they wanted $ 17 again. When I called the front desk they basically said it wasn’t their fault our kids fell asleep and were unwilling to do anything. Third blow was getting a late check out today. I’m with a large group that has had over 500 people staying here the past few days spending a lot of money at this resort so you think they’d work with us a little on a late check out. Wrong! If you go here please do it with eyes wide open that this is a business and you’re just a number.

We stayed three nights in January between the holidays with three children aged three to six. Overall the resort is a good location for parents to take younger children, though I don’t feel like it’s as good as other options in the Dells for older kids. It has a true resort feel, in fact we didn’t go outside for three full days. The facilities(including the room, pool areas and restaurants) were clean and well staffed. The wave pool is really small and is more suited to younger children than teens. The lazy river, indoor /outdoor hot tub and swim up bars are great though. There is a small kids lazy river and really nice spray — ground for little ones. This is better than most of the other resorts. The rooms are not spacious, but they are clean. It was pretty loud in the hallways with running kids, but this should be expected at a family resort. There are no large refrigerators or stovetops, just a microwave and mini-fridge. We did eat at both the sports bar and the buffet. The buffet was surprisingly good for dinner. Lots of selection and good quality for the price. Very friendly staff and quick meal. I recommend eating there if you want to stay on site. The sports bar was just okay. Food was great, but the booths were pretty beat up and it was a madhouse. Get reservations if you can. We had a great time at the indoor amusement park. This is perfect for kids probably 8 to 12 or 13. Get the wrist bands, especially if you will be there more than one day. Lazer tag climbing stuff and putt putt are included if you do. The biggest surprise was the gym. It had full free weights and several treadmills. It was staffed by a true trainer, and everything was new and clean. It was a great surprise and was free with the resort fee. This was great. The main reasons I’m not giving this a five star is the lack of kitchen amenities, the small wave pool and the price… this is much more expensive then the Wilderness(we could have stayed an extra night @ wilderness for the price difference). Kalahari is a good choice if budget is not an issue, you have kids under 12, and you want to have everything in one place under one roof.

It is not the safest water park for children. They do not have enough safe guards on duty. My 14 years old daughter ended up in hospital for 6 weeks after she was under water for about 3 minutes in Kalahari, Wisconsin Dells.

We stayed for 2 nights. Staff– everybody was awesome. From doorbell and desk to food court and prize guys at the theme park. We met happy, fun people. Even the younger teenage staff was really nice. It made our stay! Rooms– we stayed in the desert rooms. This is a big reason why we are giving it only 3 stars. To be 5 stars, Bathrooms and everything need updating, lighting needs to improve(rooms are super dark). We heard people stomping above is from 10 – 12:30 and couldn’t sleep. The room fan helped a ton– thank goodness turning that on was an option! Waterpark– pleased with the number of raft rides as these are our favorite but really disappointed that the lazy river was closed the whole time. And one of the family rides was closed for one of the two days. The pool floors were in some areas were looking really worn out. I always notice these things as it grosses me out. They have lots of cabanas that you can rent. Didn’t do this but really like this idea. Love the swimup bar and indoor outdoor hot tub. And that there is a separate one for families. Only 3 out of 5 stars because parts were run down, closed or not unique rides. Themepark– loved that we had something different to do at night. We did all the rides. Kids love the ropes and rock climbing. Go karts are slow and it is a small track so good for first timers or those with little kids. Food– actually pretty good! We ate at the brew pub and had breakfast at the buffet. Spa– just got nails done. Staff was nice. It was a nice break and my nails look good. Bonus! They had a baby tiger in the lobby. The kids loved it. Lobby area is great and we loved the shops. We didn’t give it 5 stars because it isn’t a 5 star resort but we don’t think that any of the Wisconsin dells resorts are 5 stars. We would give Wilderness 3 stars from our stay there 2 years ago.

Went here with my child and niece. Came home with lice. I should have been suspicious when the cleaning staff never cleaned our room. We stayed two nights. The morning after the first night we went to go enjoy the park. Got back to the room at noon, no housekeeping. Shrugged because we were in the far building so figured they were running behind. Came back at 5 or 6 and STILL no housekeeping. Should have made a fuss right there but went back to having fun. When we go back at night, saw housekeeping at 10. Told them our place was never cleaned. They offered a weak apology and offered to clean it in a bit. I said nevermind, that we were going to bed. We all got lice after. Dr. said with the life cycle of nits and lice that it was that trip. I should have known. If they couldnt be bothered to clean the room after a stay I REALLY doubt it was cleaned anywhere near well after check out. Probably will never ever come back again. For all that money, not worth coming back with nits

I LOVE this place. We got a great deal on a 2 queen whirlpool/fireplace suite. The room was clean, spacious, comfortable, and the television was huge. The water in the outside water park was so warm, it made you kind of forget that the weather was not all that great at about 71 with rain in the forecast. The indoor water park is spacious with plenty of room you don’t feel like you have to fight to find a place to sit. I didn’t even notice that the lounge chairs were missing cause I just pulled up another chair and put my feet up. On top of all this we got complimentary tickets to Timbavati wildlife park and the kids loved it. They feed carrots to the Giraffes and other animals. Staying at the Kalahari was a wonderful way to end our vacation.

The rooms look clean but the carpet looks like it has not been cleaned for years. After a long day we all took showers and went to bed. Woke up and walked around the room while we ate breakfast only to see the bottoms of our feet. Are you kidding me… My daughters clothes are black from crawling around for 5 minutes. Walking in dirt would be cleaner than this.

I went to this place with a friend when I was in Chicago and I must say that we had an amazing time there. First, this place is huge and offers a lot of water rides when you are in the water park. It also offers a lot of other attractions in its little theme park which means that you will not get bored if you go there for the weekend. The greatest thing for us is that we were able to get a suite and the water park pass for a very low price, which was great because we went there on a student budget. The room was really great and large, with a fireplace and a balcony. The hotel and water park staff was always nice and helpful and we did not experience any problem during our stay. There are also a lot of dining options around the site, so you will definitely have some diversity in your food choices. Overall, my experience with the Kalahari Resort Convention Center was very positive and I would recommend it but not for more than a weekend because you may get bored then. Feel free to message me for any additional details that you may need!

Great place. We’ve stayed there on two separate occasions and found it to be a good experience all around. The indoor theme park is better than it sounds and my kids really enjoyed it(Ages 11, 14, and 16). Indoor water park is well maintained and very enjoyable for all ages. They added some new super-fast slides this year that are really intense. Outdoor water park is also well maintained and clean, good slides/attractions at both. Also noteworthy is that there are enough slides/attractions in the water parks that the lines for the slides never got too bad. I could see that a smaller park would have long waits for some of the slides where Kalahari doesn’t seem to have that problem, unless you want to ride the«Riptide», that line is a long one. The on-side restaurants are okay, we didn’t eat at the«Brewery», but we had dinner one night at the main restaurant and it’s decent food at average prices. The free tickets to the Tommy Bartlet show are cool. We used them the first time we went a few years ago, but didn’t go this time around, if you haven’t seen that show, it’s worth the time spent.

This place is big! I enjoyed our stay. We went to the pub and the steak house and both were very good. The one problem I had was carrying the tubes up to the slides. What a drag. I am used to Holiday World where they have a conveyor belt bring them up. Overall we would go back. We stayed across the street from the main park on the 4th floor so we had quite a walk to get to the water park. My daughter left her Ipad in the bed. She realized this when we were on the Interstate going home. There was no where to turn around. I called the Kalahari and they sent someone to look in the room. It was not there. They gave me the number to lost and found. I called and left a message and then I sent an email. First thing Monday morning I received an email saying they found her Ipad. I immediately called and gave them a credit card number so they could ship it back. It arrived on Wednesday. I am so thankful that they have honest people who work here. My daughter was so happy to have her Ipad back. I really hope she learned a lesson here!

My family and I visited for for a few days in April while on a visit to my mother. We had a room on the first floor near the theme park. We did not go to the theme park on our visit. The room was very large. It consisted of 2 rooms with 2 bathrooms. There was also a fireplace and patio area. The weather was still cold outside so we didn’t use the patio. We could see the outdoor water park from our patio. The children loved the water park and we did that on both days. There weren’t many visitors during our stay so the lines were minimal. There was plenty of seating. The kids were able to ride the rides as much as they wanted with minimal wait time. In the mornings, there was no wait. My 8 y/o was constantly up and down :) I found the food to be ok. There are other places to eat near the resort as well. We enjoyed our visit and will visit again when we are in the area.

I came about this resort from a great savings coupon we purchased thru Groupon. My family and I went on a Monday and left on a Tuesday. When we got to the location we loved the whole hotel setup, plenty of parking, and very clean inside/outside. Upon entering the hotel, the kids adored the scenery, even I thought it was pretty cool. Our receptionist Cassandra was very nice and knowledgeable about the hotel services, restaurants, etc. There were no problems with using the Groupon ticket we had purchased. We had a full pass to the indoor water park and theme park which was the gaming, golf, etc. Check-in took about 20 minutes. Everything pretty much ran smoothly. Once check in was complete, we went to our room. The room was big and beautiful. The room had a microwave, frig, coffee machine, basically everything worked. The room was clean and the view from the patio was great. This place had several restaurants and so many great things for the kids. I really loved the arcade area, there were interactive gaming I like to call it, that kept the kids busy. The food we had their was great. Met some great servers who were funny and were people friendly. lol. The water park was perfect, there were life guards everywhere you looked. Sleeping there was great, the walls weren’t thin, you don’t hear doors slamming, nor bad smell odors in the room. Believe me, I have had my share of bad hotel experiences. So this is why I am just mentioning it. lol. I always felt safe leaving my things in the hotel room. The whole experience was amazing, I spent an incredibly beautiful time with my family and the resort was a great place to spend it at. Yes, I will be going back for another visit but next time, stay for a couple more days. Before ending this post, I suggest you visit«Top Secret» which is about a 5 or 10 minute drive from the resort. Its almost like a fun maze, but it is awesome.
