Laser treatment was ok but overall service sucks. I’d suggest starting by acknowledging and greeting your customer instead of bitching about your life drama.

Completely different experience depending upon the aesthetician you have. One woman did both my chin and upper lip and another gal only did my chin and said it would be extra to do the lip, so no consistency. The gal who only did the chin area also didn’t seem to be using the laser tool properly, because the aesthetician who was better than her put it directly on my face, and the other gal put it about an inch or so from the area, which didn’t yield as great of results the week or two afterward. I think this was part of her strategy to get me to sign up for more treatments, as they kept recommending I set up at least 3 more visits to see the desired results, and they don’t accept Groupons for the add’l 3, which are $ 69 a piece. The aesthetician I had a positive experience with offered me ice both times, the other didn’t bother. Hair still grows in both areas, but it doesn’t seem to be as much as before, but I wouldn’t go back here for the follow-up treatments.

I have been going here for electrologist since about May of 2012. I have had no problems and everything is looking pretty good. I don’t do the laser hair because I’m looking for permanent hair loss for the«little» white hairs as well as some stray pigmented ones. After the appointment I was given an «after-care» sheet. I haven’t tried any of the other services but I do recommend coming here to permanently take care of any extra and unwanted hair.

I bought the Groupon for two microdermabrasions thinking I was getting a really good deal and that they can’t be that different from the ones you get at a spa. Turns out I was wrong. I was turned off from the beginning when the woman doing my treatment told me that I’m getting the wrong treatment and that I should get the Fraxel, which will solve all my problems in a few installments with each installment costing $ 400. Whoa. The treatment itself was really abrasive and I left with tiny sand-like crystals all over my face and in my hair. I’ve gotten a microdermabrasion before at a spa in Newton and that one came with some sort of facial treatment, which now I’m realizing is SOIMPORTANT so your skin doesn’t dry out completely and flake after 3 days(which is what’s happening to me now). I’m guessing the abrasiveness near my lips is also what caused a cold sore outbreak for me the next day. Sadly, I don’t think I’ll be coming back for my second treatment even though it’s been paid for. Cold sores + flaking skin that cannot be remedied by moisturizers do not make for a very pleasant week. Blah.

My experience at Advanced Laser & Skin Center so far has been top notch. I came in on a Groupon for laser hair removal and have been in twice. I work long hours, so it was especially nice to be able to come in on Saturday for my first visit. I managed to get utterly lost on my way there the second visit and was a full 15 minutes late, but they were helpful and gracious and got me in regardless. I haven’t felt rushed or hurried, even though the treatment time is brief. Laser just doesn’t take much time! Lets be honest, laser-ing off your hair is not exactly fun, so the shorter the time it takes the better. Mine is dark, course hair and I had tried electrolysis on the same treatment areas as a teen with zero results. After the first treatment on my underarms, I saw about a 90% reduction in hair growth. After the second treatment a month later, there’s barely anything left to treat. I’m keeping in mind that hair grows on a 12 month cycle, but I’m thrilled with what I see so far. Service is great and the price is ridiculously reasonable. Bottom line, I will certainly recommend this place to friends and I’m setting up appointments for other treatment areas already. After reading a lot of reviews of sketchy places in and around Boston, I approached this experience with trepidation; I am so pleased to say that this place is on the level and absolutely legit.
