Not worth a single star!!! I wish Unilocal has 0 star. Very unprofessional group of people. initiated mortgage application 3 months before and still waiting on closing. Please stay away from this company folks. So, owner of the company emailed/called a few time after the previous review. Tried offering $ 200 to take down my bad review and asked me to give his company 5star rating. Also, upon bunch of negotiations, he offered me 3% interest rate where current rate was 2.99%. FYI, competitors offered 2.87 the same day and he couldn’t match it. Upon getting competitive interest rate from another company, He was more interested in knowing other offers than retaining his customers. Guys, if you are interested in refi, you need to move away from commonwealth mortgage. I can send you my lender info if you are looking to close within 30 days.

Jason and his team did a great job in refinancing my current mortgage. They were responsive, professional, and detail oriented. The whole process took about 4 weeks, and went through very smoothly. We are very happy with their work and will do business with again.

Terrible experience.. They make mistakes with names of your banks and other important information that they suppose to verify. Phillipina Arbour, Jr underwriter is useless. Three months– and no results. We were pre approved 3 months ago!

I had the WORST property buying experience I have ever had when I used Commonwealth as a lender for the purchase of an investment condo in September 2014. When I first locked the rate with Julie Long, I promptly sent all documentation requested. As I worked with several people(Aline Dixon, Lyndsay Morin, Paula Cunio), I forwarded the same documents multiple times. It was annoying but I was fine with it. From the time of my initial loan application on August 16th to the projected closing on September 23rd, there were long periods of silence punctuated with requests for documentation, all of which I promptly fulfilled. The first signs of trouble were on the day prior to closing, when I was informed by Paula that they had not been able to obtain a completed condo questionnaire from the head trustee(who later informed me that he had returned a call from Commonwealth weeks prior and did not hear back). By dint of a number of emergent phone calls and faxes, we managed to get this done. Paula then asked me to sign a form stating that we waived our right to review a copy of our appraisal within 3 or more days of closing, although I received this form the day prior to closing and we hadn’t agreed to waive this right. We signed it in order to expedite the closing. Then there was a delay due to waiting for the insurance binder, which I ended up forwarding to them again(my realtor had emailed it to them a month prior). After extending the closing by a day, my attorney(thank goodness I didn’t use their in-house attorney) told me that Commonwealth did not fund the loan until 3 pm THEDAYAFTER the planned closing date, and tried to give her trouble on a power of attorney we had set up for signatures. So the actual closing occurred two days after the intended closing date. I am grateful that the sellers did not have a purchase scheduled the same day as the planned closing that would have required them to have the funds on hand. I chose Commonwealth because they are local and offered good mortgage rates. Fortunately my loan has been sold to Chase Bank and we no longer have to deal with Commonwealth. Rest assured that I will NEVER use this company again. I have no idea how they have an A+ on ; their incompetence borders on criminal!
