…front office staff are rude and condescending… …docs and back office staff are nice…

After moving to the area, my husband and I wanted to switch to closer doctors. His experience with the doctor he saw was okay at first — typical office visit for a routine physical. The doctor said he was going to run some standard tests — fine, okay… except when we got a bill from the lab that was $ 500. Yeah, surprised us too. Part of this was improper billing coding on the part of the doctor’s office(diagnostic coding), and the majority of that was running unnecessary tests. We’re still waiting on billing to come at us with a new number(it’s been months… and hours of waiting on a phone with the doctor’s office, the lab, and insurance). If we were going to continue going here, we would make sure to check with insurance first before getting ANY lab work done. But we’re not going back here again! Partly because of the inconsiderate doctors(not thinking of patient financial constraints), but mostly because I never want to come back here again after experiencing terrible bedside manner. Rude, condescending, and unhelpful sum it up fairly well. I was having knee pain recently, which was written off as a side effect of me being overweight. Which, yes, I am — but this was different. When I went to a new doctor who actually listened to me, I figured out I had a fairly common knee syndrome that can be helped with knee exercises and the like — helpful! Much better than«have you tried diet and exercise?» Yes, everyone has. O. o

My husband and I both began going here in 2013 when we got new health insurance. We saw different doctors but both had similar issues. The office staff is extremely unfriendly. When you come in for an appointment, you almost feel like you are bothering them. How dare we come in as new patients and not know how your office operates. Shame on us! Even over the phone they are rough and not very friendly. I feel like the hours of operation is constantly changing. Every time I think I have their schedule down, the hours are different when I call. Half the time, I can’t even get a real, live person on the phone. They lack in communication big time. My husband got what he was told was a «routine physical» after not going to the doctor for 10 years. We have great insurance and just about everything is covered. The doctor told him up and done that all the testing he was doing was part of a routine physical. Imagine our surprise when we got a $ 200+ bill from them! When I got the billing department, I couldn’t even believe how rude the woman I spoke to was. She was unpleasant and spoke to me like I was a child. When I fought with her over not wanting to pay for these ridiculous charges, she told me that there doctors don’t know what they are talking about. Ummm… well then maybe you should have all your employees trained better? And shouldn’t your doctors know exactly WHAT is suppose to be done during a ROUTINEPHYSICAL?!? Luckily our wonderful health insurance came to the rescue and paid the bill. A few months later, I was in excruciating pain at work. I called the doctor four times before I was able to speak to someone. I explained the pain I was having and asked for an appointment. They couldn’t take me until noon the following day and told me to call back if the pain got worse. It did get worse and I did call back. I have to leave not one but two messages. I ended up having my husband take me to the emergency room. Once we got checked in, the office called me back to tell me that they filled a prescription for me at a pharmacy near my work and told me I probably had a UTI. Thank god I went to the hospital. I did not have a UTI, but kidney stones. More recently, I needed a prescription for asthma medication. I have to once again call several times to get a hold of someone. On the fifth try, I left a message explaining the situation. I never received a call back. I gave it a few hours and then called again in the afternoon to check in. Apparently, they filled my prescription and«forgot to call me». I use two pharmacies, one near my house and one near my work. I had the audacity to ask which pharmacy the prescription was sent to and got a very rude response. After the last incident, we are just all done with this office. Life is busy enough, we don’t need to deal with this kind of treatment when we are sick.
