Applebee’s

My food was okay, but was disappointed when a few of my favorite things were taken off of the menu. The décor is boring and ordinary. I don’t care about the highschools and siue sports. And the wall with some sort of graffiti looks ridiculous. I want the old Applebee’s back. The only thing I do like is the new booths. Everything else was mediocre.

Steak… what can I say. The sirloin beats all the steak places in the area. We like the two for twenty specials, the cold beer, and the super friendly staff. We are regulars.

My wife and I go to Applebee’s quite a bit, so we know what to expect. This location had friendly staff. The food was as good or better than you will get at the Bee’s, and the portions seemed on the higher side than normal. I just wish they hadn’t changed the 2 for $ 20 menu, but that’s a corporate thing, not a local thing.

Typical Applebee’s fare, so the food is the same as every other Applebees, however what made me want to write a review was the customer service. I came to Applebees about 9PM on a Thursday after a wake, with a group of 10 – 12 and since the tables near the bar were empty we asked if we could sit together. We were told by the manager that it wasn’t their policy to move tables and they could sit us all separately across the restaurant, however since we arrived as a group they would be forcing the mandatory gratuity of 20% on each table, even if it had less than 6 people. How can you charge a table of 4 a mandatory gratiuty just because they arrived with a large group. Because of this they lost out on probably lost out on what could have been a pretty good sized bar tab.

As a former Army medic & lifelong nurse I really appreciate the attitude of appreciation & love that is so obviously bestowed upon us…
