Still the best Colombian food in the Woodhaven area!

A trend I’ve notice is that most Spanish restaurants have really good rotisserie chicken. This place is no different. Last time I went, a half-​rotisserie chicken + rice and beans is $ 7.25 tax included. The price is fair for the food. The $ 1.25 empanada (chicken/​beef) is delicious. Try it with the awesome cucumber sauce.
Food to avoid: Churrasco (shell or sirloin) steak. Twice on separate occasions, I have ordered this and it is a piece of tough beef with a huge hunk of fat that I can’t even bite into. Fat is usually delicious in a steak, but this one, I don’t even know. Also don’t order the Picadilla or whatever it is called. It’s basically cut up hot dogs (and overcooked [How do you overcook hotdog?]) with potato.
The old adage of eating at unknown restaurants is especially true for this place. Always order the dishes that other people order the most (Rotisserie chicken, empanadas, columbian burgers), and you will have a good time.
Save your venturousness for another day, pick the tried and true, or you will be blue (I’m sorry, the horrible poet of me sometimes comes out at inopportune times).

The first time my sister and I ate at Doña Maria’s half the food came out cold including my sisters hamburger. Thankfully my food came out fine. I gave the place a second try. My pregnant sister in law and I orders an appetizer and two avocado salad. The appetizer had almost no meat and even though we ordered two large salads what we received was small. Not to mention 2 minutes after we walk out I realize I left my ray bans on the table and return and the waitress refuses to accept that she found them and even had the nerve to say I didn’t pay her enough tip and that was all she found on the table. Mind you the place was empty during this time. Never going back again. I should have listen to my sisters and not gone back. As the waitresses are nothing but rude unless your from their country. Both times I had to call them over to order as they paid us no mind when we arrived and had to get up to pay up front at the register as they didn’t return for the check. The other location on woodhaven blvd and Jamaica ave is further from my house but so worth it. Better service and larger portion not to mention my food is always warm and the waiters actually look like they care about their jobs. Now I understand why that location is usually a lot busier than the one on 88^th and Jamaica ave.

My husband had a burger there and he said it was the grossest, driest thing he ever ate. his description of it has turned me off of this place.

Horrible horrible customer service. Food is greasy, over-​cooked and salty. Don’t waste your money here.

I liked this place. I came here once for mother’s day about a year ago and I loved the food. It’s your basic Colombian food but It’s so flavorful. I was with my boyfriend and daughter. We ordered 3 dishes, which were big portion plates, which all came out to about $ 40 or a little less. Pretty damn good for the amount that was given. The staff was super sweet and the food took a reasonable amount of time to be served being we had a lot of food.
We came back this year and looks like they’ve been busy hooking the place up. Such a better look and feel than the first time I went. Love the new décor. This time around we came in for a late dinner and the food wasn’t that great. I guess the oil wasn’t changed all day??? Definitely try the place out during early hours.

Love to get delivery from this place. The chicharon is great but so unhealthy. The food portions are very large and delivery was fast. Always have to order a different kind of drink as well. Even though they don’t understand me too well, they are pleasant and very nice on the phone. I have no problem calling again in the near future.

I went here for the first time just to meet up with my friend. It looks more like a place you would usually walk by whenever you are on the block.
The restaurant inside from what I remember seems spacious. There’s not a lot of people inside.
The empanadas are great. I had a rotisserie chicken and fries with my friend. They weren’t bad, but you can get these kind of foods somewhere else.

Delish burgers and empanadas just don’t arrive hungry because they take forever.
