Second Wind Sports

Second Wind Sports is a great local shop. I had the chance to go skiing after many years but got rid of my gear. Mike was great in helping me find skis, poles, boots, gloves and goggles. Best of all; the pricing is affordable. I will be going back very soon.

Found this cool little place by luck! They literally have all kinds of sports stuff for cheap! Like a sports yard sale! Used and new! Went in and found a great Baseball bat and a bunch of balls! The people working there were super friendly and nice! I’ll be sending all my friends here!

I was excited to check out the place after seeing so many bikes and boards outside on Topanga. Unfortunately the day I did stop in, there were not that many bikes for sale. I was looking for a toddler bike with some training wheels and the guy who worked there just flat out did not know anything about bikes. Rather than being honest and say he didn’t know the answers to some questions, he did his best to try and sound like he knew his stuff in hopes of making a sale. That’s a big no-​no in my book. I don’t think I’ll go back. The prices, by the way, were not as great as I had hoped for second hand goods.

This place is awesome! They offer used goods from locals in the area at a great price. While looking for a bike rental for the day, and calling around only to realize how ridiculously overpriced these places are (wheel world), I decided to just buy a used mountain bike. Ended up costing me $ 50 to buy a mountain bike– cheaper than any place in the area charged for a DAY rental. Think outside the box– buy used goods! Not everything as to be brand new.

I told them i was a beginner and looking for my first board and they sold me the COMPLETELY WRONG board. Nice enough people who TOTALLY SCREWED ME!
I called them after i had a lesson and was explained the board i had was ALL wrong for my size and the surf around here and they offered me $ 30 for a board they had just weeks earlier sold to me for $ 120. Jerks for sure.
Never shopping here again and definitely NOT recommending this crap shack.

Great store with great service! I had the pleasure of talking with both Chad and Ric on separate occasions and not only were they both extremely friendly they were also very professional! I’d do service again with them again in a heartbeat!

It’s all about Authentic Quality Customer service that solves a problem. That’s what I got from Chad when I walked in the store today. yeah sure, you can hit the giant stores like sports chalet and get some young kid who has no real care or true experience. I Did that and was a very sterile feeling.
Bottom line is if your interested in any equipment, call the guys first. They know there stuff, have a good selection and Really care. At least that’s how is was for me!

I have been meaning to stop by this place since it opened about a week ago. The bikes, surf boards, wetsuits and jogging strollers on the sidewalk invite you to stop and browse. The owner, Chad, has a great little shop for all the sporting goods you need without the high prices of a box store. He grew up in the area and knows the surf breaks, sports scene and hidden gems for getting outdoors, and his service and attention are second to none.
I was also impressed by the number and variety of items for kids — good size options for wetsuits, soccer cleats, and other stuff. If you are looking to try a sport but don’t want to fully invest in a kit for something like hockey or not sure you or your kid will like the sport you’ve chosen to try, this is a great choice for gear.
Already have too much stuff? Chad will also buy your used gear or sell on consignment, so inventory is constantly changing. Clean out the garage and bring your sports stuff to him, he’ll help you unload it and put cash in your pocket.
