In my mind, this is the perfect diner. Has your typical diner fare, but executed very well, no piles of excess grease to mop up. The omelettes are fantastic. Full of meat, perfectly cooked. I don’t even like potatoes, but I love the hash browns. They are delectably crispy. My friend and I walked here from the UES. He was skeptical as to why we were walking to a random diner in the middle of Queens, but once we started on our Chef’s Omelettes(omelette with every type of meat and swiss cheese) he understood.

Been going here for over 35 years and ever since the new owner took over 5 years ago the quality of food has gotten worse and also prices have been raised 5 times. So i’m craving a cheeseburger deluxe and figure i’d give them another chance since every time i get a cheeseburger deluxe to go the burger breaks in half and guess what it happened again plus the burger is way to big and the buns are smaller so i ended up eating the burger with a fork after deciding not to throw it away which meant throwing away $ 13 which i think is way too much for a cheeseburger deluxe. So after over 35 years of going here i am done with the Stop Inn NEVERAGAIN!

This has been my go-to diner since I was little. Stop Inn has a long history and has served so many people — meaning there’s a very good reason why. Their breakfast is SOLID. Reliable, fast, delicious and consistent. Weekend mornings are the busiest so don’t come too late or there might be a long wait. To be honest, I’ve never had anything else besides their breakfast menu because it’s so consistently good that I don’t want to explore anything else. I always thought the home fries is what sets apart breakfasts from different diners and I think it’s done pretty well here. It’s shredded potatoes fried down to get crispy. Make sure you ask for extra crispy for that elevated crunch element! It does come out bland though so I always add sat and pepper, but it’s nothing to complain about — if anything, it gives me more control. Service is real quick and you can expect your food in about 10 minutes. Make sure you pay at the register after eating!

This place is better then donovan’s. Just have the burger so juicy and so good no gimmicks. Just good food I recommend. This review was written by a fat guy you can’t go wrong.

DONOTEATHERE! My mother-in-law ordered a quiche and it took forever and when it finally came it was hard as a rock! They must have microwaved it forever and when we complained the bus boy took our dishes away and apologized and acknowledged how horrible the food was. The waitress refused to take it off our bill and when I went to the manager, he also refused because we «took a few bites». Are you kidding me? This place is willing to lose customers that live around the corner over $ 10? The worst part about this place is they made us out to be «con artists» or something. I have never been treated this way. The manager got an attitude with me and so did the waitress. I told her the bus boy said he knew it was bad and she was like«how could he know? He doesn’t work in the kitchen.» I guess you can’t expect cooks with an ounce of integrity in this crappy diner. For them to let a plate like this leave their kitchen clearly means they don’t give a hell about their food. If you’re looking for a microwaved hockey puck for $ 10.95 plus shitty attitudes to boot, look no further.

Oh god what a gross breakfast I’ve just consumed. Only a few bites because honestly I can feel my stomach churning. Scrambled eggs were not scrambled more like he made an omelette then chopped it up then burned it. Bacon feels like biting into chalk. The hash browns were alright. Anyway not coming back because this simple breakfast should not be ruined this badly

After having a very hard day at work I went into this coffee shop around 8 p.m. Wednesday night. I ordered water with no ice and meatloaf with vegetables. The water had a Snapple bottle cap in the bottom of the glass. Yes you read that right. The meatloaf was so dry I wouldn’t even serve it to my dog. Bus boy gave me a new cup of water but I could not find a way to drink it. I was so grossed out. On top of that they did not even offer me a discount. Guess I’m the stupid one for not asking for some kind of compensation. I will never go back.

Average diner, fast service, and employees were friendly. Ordered the breakfast, 2 eggs with hash browns and sausage. I had to season with salt and pepper due to everything being underseasoned. It wasn’t bad for the price. Not a bad place to eat if you’re hungry and need something quick to eat.

not only do I have breakfast here but I also love their burgers, specially the stop inn burger. I lived in the neighborhood for about 8 years and I remember when it opened, their food is always fresh. Remember that you pay for what you get, so this place is not cheap but the quality of all the items and their service is great. The home fries are good but I like to get them well done with sunny side up eggs. I now have moved out of the area and anytime I am nearby, I always drop by to have breakfast. Conveniently located right off 61st woodside Avenue #7 train. When it comes to the pancakes, I rather have the belgian waffle with fruit and real maple syrup. The french toast are a bit dry for my taste. Been eating at this place for over 10 yrs and its a great place.

This is the solid neighborhood diner in Woodside. I’ve had many a brunch and burger here over the years. I love their french toast. Service is alright. Don’t forget to pay at the register near the entrance when you get your check.

I had and Belgium waffle with bacon. It was so but so delicious! So soft and tasty. This place is in a great location! Service is great. Didn’t have to wait long for the food and the food tasted very fresh. I will definitely recommend this place and come back again when I’m in town.

After a long night of poker and beers, a solid breakfast is in order. Stop Inn is that place that serves a very consistent hot breakfast. I have been here a few times over the last couple of years and always had a very solid meal. My standard order is 2 eggs over easy with fries, white toast and coffee. Always comes out hot and fresh. Always a tasty meal. Fries are done right; hot and crispy. Eggs always medium and not running. Coffee hot. What more can you say about the food… Service fast and friendly. Always with a refill on coffee. You ask one guy for something and you get a smile and done. Not the standard«this is not my table BS». If I have one complaint; it is a dollar or so more than my regular diner in Astoria. Not the end of the world, just that I am cheap these days lol. Overall, Stop Inn is a very consistent diner. Food is hot. Service is good. Quick preparation of food to the table. Take CC. Great spot for breakfast.

I’ve been to a lot of breakfast places. This was honestly just disgusting. the location is perfect & that’s about. their cheese eggs still had the plastic line where they unpeeled the American cheese. all in all it was gross.

Ah. Stop Inn, I couldn’t even count how many times I’ve been here over the years. Growing up in Woodside this was the local spot I would stop in after mass on Sunday’s with my friends. This place has changed over the years in regards to ownership and staff. You won’t find a young redheaded Irish girl with an accent serving you an Irish breakfast here anymore. The food and menu is the same nothing has changed in that matter, hey what works-works. Lot’s to choose from and you won’t get a bad meal. Just remember it’s a diner so you’ll get diner food. No complaints here. I enjoy there hash browns a lot, it’s a must for me to get if I go at breakfast time never had them for dinner but that doesn’t say I wouldn’t. I would say there reasonable priced along the other diners in the neighborhood but it’s not the number 1 diner in Woodside for me there like my number 2 which doesn’t mean you shouldn’t come here. Try it out for yourself. My heart is just with Woodside Café which is located just a block away. Diner in an Irish neighborhood, I guess you should try there Irish Breakfast.

I love this dinner. I see myself being here more often when I move in the neighborhood. I usually get steak and eggs with hash browns. I was told to get the Irish breakfast next time. I intend to do so. I highly recommend this place.

Your every day good enough corner diner that could be on any street in New York City pretty much… well, at least in those areas where they haven’t run them out with skyrocketing rents, and eventually they will. This one tucked safely under the #7 train in Jackson Heights is probably safe for awhile. Eggs, toast, bacon, hash, coffee, breakfast slinging kind of place(my purpose for visiting). There’s a small amount of marketing going on that they have an Irish leaning to it but all I saw on the menu was reference to bits of Irish rashers and sausage. Of course everyone working was Hispanic except for the tired looking middle-aged white gal that was tending the entire floor. Nice enough she was, but looked like she was pulling a double shift. No one had red hair and Spanish was the language of the crew, not a Donegal, Cork or Sligo accent in ear-shot. The coffee is truck-stop grade, they’ll keep it filled, and the food was decent. I opted for two eggs sunny with corned beef hash and hash browns, toast, side of orange juice. The perfect prescription to cure an ailing hangover had I been nursing one. I wasn’t. Three different kinds of hot sauce for the eggs, thank you. A PUBLICSERVICEANNOUNCEMENT: remember folks, coffee begs for eggs, eggs beg for hot sauce, coffee and hot sauce don’t like each other. If you come: — Q70 bus to Laguardia picks up just across the street, my reason for being here. — Lots of newspapers partially read hanging around if you need to catch up. — Meet the locals. They’re grabbing breakfast and lunch here. — Pay at the counter on the East side of the restaurant, not at the table.

Another Woodside local eatery crossed off my list. Just below the 61st Street subway stop, this is probably the only thing that immediately catches your eye on the street corner. The window and interior holiday/seasonal decorations are constantly changing throughout the year giving it a nice homey feel. If you’re a huge burger fanatic and the craving hits, I’d recommend going here. It wont be the tastiest you’ve ever had, but it’ll just be a huge diner-sized burger(at least 8 ounces) that’ll stuff you into a a nice food coma. The fries and onion rings are done well here too. I’d have to give a shout out to the french toast made with a thick challah-type bread as well. The rest of the menu is extensive, pages on pages of menu items. Keep in mind this place is more of a diner and you shouldn’t be ordering those«fancier» dishes unless you really want to pay the prices for them, and then complain about the quality. This place gets crowded on weekends when families flock in for breakfast. Service is usually attentive and courteous. To top it all off, Stop Inn takes credit/debit too!

–Small yet cozy local diner/restaurant. Corner spot. Can’t miss it! –One of my sister’s favorite places for diner food! She got me liking STOPINN toO! –Good traditional American breakfast that hit the spot every time!(2 eggs with sausage/home fries/coffee and 2 eggs with bacon/home fries/coffee.) –LOVE their hash browns aka home fries, which are extra crispy and not greasy at all! MUSTHAVEFORREALS! –Freshly squeezed OJ! –The portion is a good size and very filling. –The prices are pretty fair. –Quick service. Food doesn’t take long to serve on table. –Note: Restrooms are down a steep flight of stairs.

Me likey diners, especially the old school ones. There is something very unique and special about old school diners that simply can’t be replicated in a modern diner. You can’t replicate history, vibe, and atmosphere. I can honestly say I’ve past this place a hundred times and only really went in since a friend told me how much she loved this place and how she has been coming here since she was a kid. I do feel diners are a one trick pony though. I am a huge fan of diner breakfast, everything else is a gamble to me, but the Shepherds Pie on the special’s board did tickle my fancy. I also thought the prices were a tad high for breakfast. Reg breakfast for 2 was $ 21. Whatevs, I still enjoyed my meal. The food: Two eggs sunny side up, with sausage and homemade home fries– So my fav thing were the homemade hash browns. It’s so sad that when I get unfrozen hash browns, I get excited. The hash browns are light, fluffy and tender. It’s weird that you could taste each strand of potato, I was a excellent. hash brown. The sausage had a very old school diner sausage taste, it was really good. The eggs were cooked properly, the yolk was perfectly runny. This is weird, but the toast was off for me. The white toast had the perfect toasted look but it was odd how it wasn’t crunchy, like ATALL. The«toast» wasn’t toast, it was like«brown white bread.» I never had un-toast till today. lol But, I was very happy with my experience here to say the least.
