I forgot my lunch today and Googled restaurants in Woonsocket, even though I’ve tried just about every restaurant here. I was thinking how come I’ve never heard of this place and figured it out. They don’t sell fast food or frozen meals sold at premium prices. That’s what most people like and I just don’t get it. Kinda like a calzone from a pizza shop with globs of cheese as a main ingredient and flavorless spinach. Here, they’re best know for their fresh baked savory pies and desserts. I tried their mini quiche, spinach pie, pea soup, strawberry rhubarb turnover(amazing, and I don’t have a sweet tooth). You can taste the difference. It tasted homemade. I finally found an alternative place to eat. Cute place too, friendly service.

I come from a french family that«competes» each holiday to see who makes the best meat pie(and chowder too). I had one of the meat pies today and they were as good(can’t say better) because my sisiters would disown me, lol. However… hands down better than any meat pie you would buy at any supermarket. I called the order in this morning and it was ready and warm when I picked it up. Just had to warm it for 20 minutes, really looking forward to lunch tomorrow as i’ll be warming up what is left. I l;ive 30 minutes away and it’s worth the drive. Can’t wait to try their Chicken Pie.

Anyone that gives this place a bad review is probably from the crappy part of woonsocket and is used to the welfare witchcraft that their moms made with food stamp bought price rite food! This place is awesome had the chicken pot pie and some soup! It was awesome! The women that work there are super friendly, it’s clean and it’s made from scratch! So if you have something bad to say! Stick to Taco Bell and Applebee’s you uncultured swine! You write a bad review and no one cares they can tell you apart from the rest of the world! I will definitely go back here!

This bakery is one of my all time favorites. I always make it a point to stop by when I’m in the area. Everything is made from scratch, and it’s a family business. I’ve had everything from chocolate cream pie to the apple turnovers to the home made soups, chili and dynamites. No matter what you choose, you’re guaranteed scratch baked food made with local ingredients by people who truly care about the quality of their work.

Love the name. The baked goods … «Meh. I’ve experienced better.» Perhaps for the *Woonsocket* area this is a prime-o establishment, but I was a bit disappointed. Arrive with caution: it’s a one-way parking area, and there’s a bit of exposed rebar(which I stubbed my chubby toes on). Distinctly missing that«bakery smell»: usually the smell of buttercream with a dollop of sweet sweet sin coaxes you deeper into the bakery… compelling you to purchase MORE and MORE! C’Est Bön did not smell so Bön(in fact, it smelled slightly vet-office-ish). Refinement: the prices are great(cookies and sweets are under $ 2, and they sell second-day items for even CHEAPER), but it looks what it would look like if I dropped everything and just *opened* a bakery(missing those neat-cornered finishing touches on some items). I must say that their hand pies were perfectly uniform, like good little apple soldiers lined up in the case. But overall: …Meh. The flavor: heavy on the sugar, ok on the flavor, a reasonable treat for the road. Certainly not a destination I’ll be salivating after, but it did the trick for my mid-day sugar craving.

Things I like: independent small businesses, homemade fresh foods, private parking and acceptance of credit cards. This place has a check mark next to each, which will most certainly guarantee my return. I was pleasantly surprised to find this place tucked into a neighborhood. Cute little building. There is a one-way entrance into the parking lot, which I love — order — no chaos in the parking lot allowed. There is a handicap parking spot and a convenient ramp to the front patio area and front door. As you walk in, you will see the staff working diligently behind the counter and warm and cold cases filled with homemade foods, sweet and savory. There are a few tables and chairs inside, should you want to enjoy the food fresh and warm on site. I chose to window shop the counter of cases. The friendly young lady asked if it was my first time visiting and was quick to point out the daily specials board and the different types of offerings. She was more than patient and with a smile as I asked questions about the pies. The Chicken Pot Pie immediately caught my eye and above that, the spinach puffs. The other pie in the warmer was salmon and while I wanted to try it, I was taking it to go and wasn’t sure if it would make my newly washed car smell like salmon… so maybe that will be for a dine-in visit. The french meat pie was in the oven with 10 minutes left to cook, so I will come back for that. They had cinnamon rolls(with frosting of course) and cheesecakes, maple walnut pies, cupcakes and more… so much to choose from for my next trip. They have menus at the counter you can take to go. When I was checking out she stated that they have pies that can be taken and cooked at home. They cook the inside and all you have to do is finish baking it at home. Call ahead to be sure they have them ready. I will definitely try this, because I love French Meat pies, it reminds me of home and friends. I wasn’t sure of payment options because of it being a small business, but the good news is that they do accept credit cards for orders more than $ 5. The chicken pot pie was buttery and delicious, while I enjoy a full crust, top and bottom, this was good and very filling. The spinach pie was a delicious treat, small and easy to eat on the run, just be sure check your teeth if you are at work. Bottom line, because of the wonderful customer service, quality of food, convenient parking and because it is just a great small business, I highly recommend this place, there are not many like it. I hope you too will say, «C’est Bön» after you stop and eat here, because it is!(Translation: It’s So Good)

This place is absolutely delicious. 5 stars all the way. Ham and cheese turn overs are to die for. Hope they keep them for a while. This place has an adorable atmosphere and the employees are very friendly and sweet. Family owned local business and a decent price too!

Small, family owned café/bakery in Woonsocket. My lady and I were looking to burn some time, so we stopped in for a pastry. I’ve eaten a lot of cupcakes since they became fashionable, and I have to say that these cupcakes aren’t fancy, but they are ridiculous good! Best carrot cake cupcake I’ve ever had. Well done! Also, I hear they have a mean meat pie as well from the locals…

C’est pas bon. For a place with a French name in a French-Canadian town like Woonsocket, the pastries are really underwhelming. No sign of croissants, eclairs, brioche, kouign amann, or really anything French. Tried their«magic bars,» which pretty much tasted like a 5 year old empties a bunch of cookie stuff(chocolate chips, shredded coconut, etc) into a pan with an obnoxious amount of sugar and baked it. No French/Italian coffee offerings either. Sadly, another disappointing dive in an already dive-ridden city.

It seems like they’ll be pretty popular for the ice cream this summer(Bliss Ice Cream… yum!), but consider heading over for lunch or dinner. If you grew up in a proper French Canadian household, you’ve had meat pie. C’est Bön’s meat pie is getting rave reviews from the toughest meat pie critics. I enjoyed the pea soup and an ice cream sandwich(ice cream scoop between two homemade chocolate chip cookies). Everything is apparently made from scratch in the kitchen at C’est Bön.
