Stopped in Sunday 10÷3÷15 for a 10am double red blood cell appointment made by phone 30 minutes earlier. After filling out the questionair, went in for an evaluation with Andrea, a cuddly — looking, no-​nonsense nurse who enjoys the HGTV channel playing on the donation area flat screen TVs.
The needle stick went well with no subsequent bruising, she’s a pro. Ask for her.
I got a little giddy halfway through the donation. Andrea and another of the girls brought me juice and tums to replace calcium. Felt fine by the end.
A great selection of snacks, including bakery goods and a fridge full of juices were out in the recovery area.
Best to make a weekend appointment as early as possible. The waiting area was beginning to fill up as I was finishing.
An overall good experience. I’ll be back in 16 weeks.

nice staff. comfortable seating. leave a book /​take a book area. convenient weekly hours @ a permanent facility when you want to donate blood, but don’t have a blood drive scheduled near you.
