Food is super simple but delicious. Very typical Italian restaurant. Pizza is more than half their menu, but they have a decent number of other things still. My girlfriend got the meatball sub and let me try some and it was amazing. My son got the pepperoni pizza, and it was pretty standard but good. I got the Gnocchi special which was good, but a little small for the price. Overall a good experience, and I will definitely be returning. Probably before the end of the week.

I’m a tough critic when it comes to italian food. I was raised in an Italian family. I grew up 10 minutes from Little Italy in Cleveland. I cook. I’ve built memories on this kind of food. It’s what I turn to for comfort. My biggest struggle has been finding a truly worthy Italian restaurant in the Wooster /Ashland /Mansfield area. My trip to The Grande Ranch didn’t end this search, but I’m pleasantly surprised by what I found. The décor doesn’t do this restaurant justice. It could use a deep clean, a paint job, and maybe some new tablecloths. But, with every eatery, it comes down to the food. The side salad was okay. Nothing spectacular or flashy, but what you’d expect. Things got much better with the crostini appetizer. The dough was the right texture and was well seasoned with garlic, red pepper flakes, and cheese. Best of all was the red sauce to dip the crostini in. It’s deep, rich, and complex. It was even better on my side of penne that came with the Italian pork dinner. The pork was tender and was very flavorful with the accompanying juice. Looking around, I noticed that many regulars,(who were hugging the staff), ordered pizza. The pizzas looked really good, so it’s something to try for next time. I was told the cannoli wasn’t prepared on-site, so I passed on desert. I appreciate the server’s honesty, as I wouldn’t have been happy to have gotten a pre-prepared cannoli.(Yes, I’m a snob with Italian pastries.) If I’m looking for a special occasion and food that needs to be incredible,(by my standards), I’m driving to Cleveland. However, for a quick comfort food fix, The Grande Ranch can serve as a patch. I’d consider this a great place for a pizza and a few beers.

Just a bit better than awful. The pasta sauce is like something out of a bottle and not a good bottle. Then they throw too much of their awful sauce over overcooked pasta. Went with another person, neither of us could finish our meal.

Love the Grande Ranch! Pizzas are awesome. Service can be a little slow but I don’t mind because the food is so yummy. The house salad dressing is really good. Fried zucchini is awesome. They don’t skimp on pizza toppings. The only leftover pizza I will eat.

Dig it! Growing up here I recalled a different«Ranch» experience. I was pleasantly surprised by the food, the service and the overall experience. We had a family dinner with about 40 peeps and they pulled it off without a hitch. The band was surprisingly good too! Well done Ranch!

Just tried this place tonight. So Wooster has, to my knowledge, 3 Italian restaurants on the Lincoln Highway. You should just keep driving right past Coccia House and head to this place; the food is a lot better and they have the convenience of accepting plastic. I haven’t tried Fiore’s yet. Tonight I had the Stromboli. It was the best Italian dish I have eaten in Ohio. The marinara dipping sauce served on the side was also very tasty. I’m assuming that their pizza would also be extremely good based on the ingredients in the Stromboli. My wife ordered the creamy Parmesan pesto on Penne. So here’s the story Ohio, every restaurant I have eaten at, without fail, in this state overcooks their pasta noodles. The Italians have a word they use to describe perfectly cooked pasta. That word is «Al dente” – meaning that the pasta should be firm but not hard. It should have a little resistance when you sink your teeth into it. Soggy noodles(aka noodles that fall apart from being boiled too long) are not acceptable in Italian restaurants. Properly cooked noodles do not share the same consistency with SpaghettiOs. Also, her meal came with stale bread, and iceberg lettuce salad served with purchased ranch dressing. Certainly they could make their own ranch dressing. It would be much cheaper for them to make it fresh and it tastes way better than Hidden Valley. Finally, it’s way past time to remodel. It was a dump on the inside. Definitely not a good first impression from the door. Despite these drawbacks, they still get 4 stars for the great Stromboli.

Great gluten free pizza — crispy crusty and perfectly topped! If planning on ordering a gluten free pizza — call in early they it takes extra time to bake. Good salads and flour-less chocolate torte(very rich) plan on sharing! Now they have gluten free pasta and meatballs too! The meatballs are excellent!
