I stopped in here on my way through town and what a gem I found. The sandwich, the James Carville, I had was excellent. The sweet potato tots for my side were seasoned and cooked very well. They have a nice range of craft beers on tap and I enjoyed a couple. Service is friendly and the atmosphere is warm. Come here!

Spectacular, beyond delicious food. Great service. Great beer. You can’t beat that with a stick.

What do you get when a Liberal & a Conservative open a bar /restaurant? Killer food & an awesome diversely respectful atmosphere. Seriously amazing food & awesome people! Never in my life have I craved a burger, until now. It’s not your normal«patty». I’m from Texas and stumbled upon this gem visiting Wooster. I’ll be back every chance I get.

Nice place for a burger and beer. Check out the chalkboard to see all the beers on tap or ask the helpful bartender. There is something for everyone. The menu is really good too. Friendly servers round out a great experience.

Cool atmosphere, love the old historic building, open bar area, pub style tables and playing some great jams on the radio(Marley, Nirvana, some other 90s grunge). Ordered up 2 of today’s specials, house-made pasta with a garlicky-pesto sauce, mushrooms, red peppers, and I added chicken. Yum! It was fantastic! Probably would’ve cleaned my plate had I not been on a time crunch! Would love to come back with more time and check out more of their healthy options. They had a special fit living options table tent, promoting a healthy lifestyle(not always a popular option for a pub-type of place, but suits me!) I also appreciate their«going green» efforts. It reflects well on the community and I like that. Overall, great local place!

Eat there a month ago. Had the Rotunda Burger. It was great. Service was profunctory but not less than as pleasant as it should have been. Still, worth the trouble.

Good food but… service was average and I wasn’t offered a refill during the meal. Also, the pints aren’t poured to the rim and prominently displayed are glasses with green tape as reference fill lines — is this for the bartender, customer or both… I wonder. Owner — stingy pours may save some coin, but your staff’s tips will suffer and customers will feel nickeled-&-dimed. This bar has the potential to be 5 stars but the owner needs to less stingy with the pours if she/he is going to charge a premium for pints that are nothing more than your more common craft beers. Finally, bar staff should never let a glass go dry during a meal unless the customer declines a refill.

Wonderful experience. Kyle & Cody were attentive and friendly. The food was terrific! Try the homemade chips. From NYC and Findlay. Looking forward to our next visit. Betsy, Dan & Frank

I loved the atmosphere of the place. It reminded me of some local bars you may find in a place like Boston or Chicago. The food was really good too, if you’re up to it do the burger challenge!

We are from out of the area and just happened upon this place. The atmosphere was great. The patrons were diverse. The staff engaging, friendly and quick to serve both food and banter. Most of the beers on tap I was not familiar with and the waitress helped choose a beer perfect to my liking. The burgers were very good. Overall a great evening. I would recommend it highly and will stop in on my next time through town!

Great place! The staff is wonderful and always remembers you, your drinks, favorite food etc — the owner is great and is always there working alongside her team! The food is so good! Make sure you try the specials, but it is the best burger in town!

They have great burgers. I had an «approach the bench» with tater tots and it was great. The burger was nice and juicy cooked to order and the tots were crispy. Accommodations are pedestrian nothing special and I could care less about their beer and their social discussions. Price is keeping them at 4 stars.

Very very good experience. Stopped for lunch. Servers were friendly and loved the touch that they made a point to know your name. The burger was excellent and the onion rings were also very good. Love to see local place with a nice atmosphere and good food. I will definitely return during my travels to Wooster. Only drawback was a little difficult to know what it was unless I was looking for it. Just take a note, it is right next to Matso’s!!!

One of the best places to eat in Wooster! Always a great selection of craft beers, if you are unsure of what to drink you can sample a few. The have the absolute best burger in Wooster. Kyle and her staff are what set 1A apart from the rest. The Chef comes up with and helps execute great specials.

Expected so much more from the hype. Started with a strong IPA that was only available in a 10oz glass as it was«so strong» at 8−9%. Seriously, they are not an Ipa friendly tap. It was only about 7 anyway. The only other double Ipa was dry. POOR beer and ale availability and quite over priced. The burger special was called the ‘Grinch’. Large burger with and onion ring and fired egg in the middle with bbq sauce for $ 13. Burger was very good but somehow wasn’t memorable. Prices I feel are 20% overpriced for the area. They’re less in Chicago. The breaker was the fact food was served on worn out wooden cutting boards. Using wood is debatable but when they are cracked and nasty that is exercisable. Who wants to eat off a nasty infested crack.

What Kyle has got going on here is just amazing. DONOT expect to go in and sit on a computer or iPad here. Conversation is IMPERATIVE!!! And Kyle and her staff are awesome! The conversations and the debates are the best part — we found this restaurant thanks to other Unilocalers, so here’s what you didn’t know, that you need to know: Check their website — Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays seem to be the most interesting nights to come. But they do a great job of keeping their schedule updated, so check before you go. Unfortunately, we didn’t know to do that, and showed up just after a really cool discussion about the impact of statistics on professional sports. But they’ve talked about all kinds of issues here — so don’t be scared away if sports isn’t your thing! They believe what they say, which is so rare these days! They are looking for all different kinds of people with different opinions to come in and share with one another, and maybe even learn something about other peoples’ points of view. Yes, the other reviewers are right. The menu is small, but the food is good(hubby had the burger of the day, and it was great!) I’ve gotta disagree with a previous Unilocaler — I like Barry Goldwater, but not the sandwich(pulled pork with chipotle mayo, and a cilantro jalapeño slaw), so I went with the other, sweeter pulled pork sandwich, which suited me just fine. The beer selection is sizable for a small restaurant. Not sure if they serve dessert or not — just had another beer and stayed until they closed for the night! Make sure to ask about Liberty, when you go!

Friendly staff, nice atmosphere. I liked the decorations. I stopped by here for a light lunch. $ 8 for soup & salad combo(grilled romaine heart, bacon, Parmesan, tomato slice). There were only two soups to choose from, so I got the chicken tortilla soup instead of red pepper & some kind of cheese. The chicken tortilla soup ended up being cheesy, which I didn’t expect. It tasted fine, just not what I was craving at the time.
