The ice cream place is beautiful and delicious. This is the perfect spot for spending a lovely summer night just relaxing w friends or to stop at while kayaking on the lake. The ice cream is so gooood, there are amazing flavors and toppings and the atmosphere is colorful summery and really pleasurable. I will always come to Madulkas.

Ice cream is fantastic;they redid outside & added a dock for boats to pull up. My usual go to place for delicious homemade ice cream!

Huge scoop of very good ice cream for a reasonable price. A deck and dock to chill out on while you enjoy it. What more could you want? Not sure whether the sign enjoining boaters to dock at their own risk is a joke or legal protection.

Yum!!! A bit pricey for ice cream but every time I order something it’s always been delicious. My favorite is the Mad Man flurry. I typically get vanilla with Oreo cookies and it’s amazing. Love going there!

I always have to order a small because the portions are SO big. The ice cream is consistently good. I usually get the cookie dough with chocolate sprinkles. I’m picky about my cookie dough… But this place has big chocolate chips and perfect size cookie dough chunks. What makes this ice cream spot stand out is the awesome view of Lake Quinsig., even at night it’s pretty. There’s lots of outdoor seating and a parking lot across the street. I’m not sure how often this happens but one night I went this summer place next door had live music playing, it was a really nice date spot.

Last year, I was raving to other parents about Madulka’s because they were the one local spot that offered a kid size ice cream that was a great price and size. This season, the owner got greedy and stopped selling kid size. I don’t mind the price of the small(it is average priced) but forcing 3 year old kids to purchase an ice cream that would satisfy the obese crowd pictured in these Unilocal reviews is over the top. I don’t like wasting food and throwing away 2⁄3 of an ice cream just because the owner wants to squeeze an extra dollar from his customers. The kid size was the only advantage to this place. Other than that, you have an average ice cream stand where the only thing that stands out is the 40mph traffic whizzing by two feet from the order window. Between the traffic, the balcony, stairs, polluted lake and mosquitoes, Madulka’s is not a great place to take young kids. Gibby’s on Sunderland Rd has better quality ice cream for the money.

Just okay ice cream, horrible service. We had to tell her to fix our order 3 times before she finally got it all correct. Beautiful spot to sit, too bad the service ruined it. Will not be going back again.

Terrible!!! Ice cream tasted freezer burnt and I was charged $ 11:50 for one small and one medium ice cream.

Everytime we go, we order the same think, small ice cream and a shake. We are charged a different price every time we go. Odd I would say so, I’ve even said something and the high school girls just look at me like I’m crazy. :/

Pretty good, overall. They have an excellent selection of flavors and their soft serve is very good. The«large» cone is very large, I’d recommend getting a cup to hold it in. The prices are pretty reasonable too, although bottled water was a little expensive. The menu is really overwhelming, there is so much to choose from. The portions are big so ordering a large is really like a massive amount of ice cream a human can’t consume in one sitting. My small sundae was refrozen in my freezer until the next couple of days, and it was still pretty good. The staff is about average. They aren’t friendly, but aren’t rude, and they do their job so I can’t complain. Parking is kind of scarce and the parking lot across the street is usually open but it’s downright dangerous crossing Lake Ave at certain times. We walked, and if you are at Lake Park it isn’t a long walk from there. At the rear of the building their is a nice deck with some seating available that looks over the lake. There is also access to some seating down by the docks. It’s really nice and peaceful if you go during the week afternoons. We went around 4 on Friday and it was pretty quiet. I can imagine this place gets busy on the weekends. Also, last year, the week before closing they were selling their ice cream for $ 1 a scoop. Something to keep in mind for you bargain hunters.

Large selection of flavors and nice location on Lake Ave. There is a beautiful seating area in the back downstairs with picnic tables and chairs. Its nice to watch the boats go by while you eat your ice cream. Ice cream is good quality, better than your standard Friendly’s, but not as good as Gibby’s. The only negative is it is right next to the Marine Core League(bar/event hall) which is really loud and sometimes rowdy.

I really have to disagree with the previous reviewer on this ice cream place. The two times I’ve been here, the service has been extremely slow and the teenage staff seemed very incompetent. I think these girls really needed some kind of manager overseeing them because they seemed very naïve at this job. The first time I went to Madulka’s was just to try out the place because I used to live just down the street. The second time I came because I had a coupon from livingsocial or one of the other internet coupon companies. When I ordered a sundae with pumpkin ice cream, the girl working there seriously had to look in every bin to see which flavor was pumpkin. Also, their soft serve machine was broken(not their fault, but still, it was disappointing). It literally took twenty minutes to get one sundae and two scoops of ice cream and I was the only one in line when I arrived. When a lady came up behind me and then another woman walked over to the deck side of Madulka’s and was served first, the lady behind me was naturally upset. Regardless of the beautiful lake view, I think Madulka’s needs to step it up with their staff and give them some much needed training in regards to customer service. The ice cream was okay but I don’t think I’ll ever come back. And I really think they need to change their slogan. Maybe I sound prude here, but«Lick it on the Lake» sounds more like a phrase a porn shop would use.
