I had such high hopes for this place…
While in the boonies with the Beau, my favorite hair salon called and said they could squeeze me in Sunday morning. Unfortunately, I was in the boonies and there weren’t any hair supply stores nearby so I drove out to Main Beauty Supply for the hair I needed for my crochet braids. This place is only 25 min from Leicester, so I decided to do a mad dash before dinner.
Upon entry I was extremely impressed and had a moment of nostalgia bcz this place reminds me of Beauty Supply Stores in N.Y. It was wall-​to-​wall of everything you could think of. I started my Unilocal check-​in process and asked a woman standing in front of the stairs that led downstairs for assistance. She seemed annoyed so I moved along and started taking pics to upload. She then approached me as if she was going to take my phone and demanded I stop taking pictures. I informed her the pics were for Unilocal purposes and the business is listed on Unilocal,therefore, as a Unilocaler, I’m simply taking a few shots to show other potential patrons. She rudely told me I couldn’t again and I didn’t push the issue and simply asked where would I locate the hair for the braids. She directed me downstairs and followed.
While on the lower level I didn’t initially see her behind me and called out «hello?» for assistance to which she retorted «I’m right here». I’m thinking: You told me to go downstairs lady, I didn’t know you’d be behind me and ‘assisting’ (for lack of a better term). While checking out the different types (they have a very large selection) she literally stood guard and watched me like a hawk for 15 minutes as I mulled over the different types, textures, and curl patterns. I then decided to call the salon to ask how many packs I needed and she yelled at me again «I said no pictures» I then calmly replied «Yea, but you didn’t say I couldn’t make any calls, mom.» My patience had exhausted and I wanted out.
While completing my transaction at the register the owner was sitting there and called another associate to ring my items. I then asked him why he chose to list his business on Unilocal if he didn’t want Unilocalers taking pics for their reviews and he said «No pictures. If I say no pictures. No pictures.» Aye Aye Captain!
Pros: seems easily accessible via public transportation, on street metered parking, relatively centrally located, a huge selection/​one-​stop shop
Cons: Poor customer service, rude staff and management, store-​stalking employees watching your every move and trying to dictate your phone use.

I love coming here whenever I need any new wigs or braids. They’re very friendly and helpful, I have never gone anywhere else. The hair there is good quality, mostly synthetic, and the wig prices range from about $ 40-​$ 100 I’m guessing.
