Pickle Barrel Delicatessen

The Mom and Pop Stop for breakfast today brings us to my favorite mom & pop around! Big shout out to The Pickle Barrel Restaurant & Deli on Pleasant Street in Worcester. My date had the everything omelet with homefries and toast, which was delicious, even have leftovers for 2^nd breakfast, while I enjoyed the corned beef hash with 2 over medium homefries and toast. The corned beef hash is THE ABSOLUTE BEST in the city in my opinion. Service was quick, our server was very attentive and treated us like family. The coffee is also the best around, strong and delicious.
I give The Pickle Barrel Restaurant and Deli two thumbs up, I highly recommend this place, we will be back again!

Went there for the first Time for a Sunday morning breakfast. Let me tell you it will be my first and last time.
I entered and I was greeted by a nice man who I think was the owner. I went and sat down. Now I understand it was busy, but not one waitress acknowledged me in at least 15 minutes. I waived down a waitress and asked if I could order. She said that I could not order from her because she was not my waitress but she would give me coffee and water while she found my waitress.
I said ok. Another 5 minutes passed. At this point I was ready to just leave. But since i had coffee I didn’t. I got up and talked to the owner guy and told him that I’d been here forever and still had not got my order. He raised hell and then my waitress finally arrived.
I ordered an egg white omelette which is 2 dollars more expensive than a regular omelette which i understand. What i didn’t understand was there was barely any egg white in my omelette. Was the worst omelette in history of omelettes. If it wasn’t for the flavorless home fries that cost an extra $ 2.99, (who does that), I would have left hungry.
Anyway. Horrible place. Only reasons I went there is because it was open later than my normal diners.
STAY AWAY. I was going to give this place 2 stars because owner was nice and apologetic, but I’m getting so angry right now, I’m changing it to a 1.

One of my family’s favorite place to eat love the service“Dennis” and all the good food.

I want to warn anyone considering eating here not to! We had dinner here tonight. It gave us a very upset stomach, and painful abdomen. Because of this, I was up all night. The food was cheap and very poor quality. I am VERY shocked that this place has almost 5 stars. Unsatisfied to the max. Deserves a 0.

I have been here twice for breakfast and both times were excellent. The first visit I had a breakfast wrap with egg and feta and some other veggies and not only was it delicious, it also was more than enough food, not even including the homefries it came with.
The second time I got a Belgian waffle which was also delicious. My boyfriend was excited that they served chicken and waffles. The food is good, the service is friendly, the atmosphere is nice (usually busy as well) and the food was inexpensive with great portions. Obviously we’ll be heading back here in the future.

Went with the family for breakfast on a Sunday… it’s been a while. Place was hopping but there was plenty of seating and the staff was friendly and fast! Food was super yum and brings me back to my childhood of having breakfast here when I was a kid. This is the go to place in worcester for breakfast

My mother ordered a baked haddock dinner here. It took 3 hours for it to be delivered. She ate it and immediately got sick. She called to complain. Asked for a replacement dinner. Was told that they were closed. No resolution was offered. She will never order from this place again. Would give 0 stars if possible.

We’ve been to this place a few times over the years for take out coffee and sit-​in meals: always pleasant friendly people serving a very good product. Even when it is crowded the service is prompt and quality consistent. But, this past Friday, being ‘Good Friday’, the place was packed; the staff was out-​straight: and still friendly smiles with great service and meals. They certainly live up to their motto. Check it out. The only thing we didn’t like were the people smoking right outside the entrance.

Wow! Absolutely loved this place! First of all the service was super nice, everyone seemed very friendly and felt like I was walking into a good friends home. Very welcoming!
Our waitress remembered our very big order without even writing it down and I was very impressed! Food was absolutely delicious. I got the Pickle Barrel wrap with a side of corned beef hash (SO DELICIOUS). No one at our table was disappointed.
Need to go back again soon! Would definitely recommend!

This is by far the best breakfast spot in worcester, everything served fresh, great service, I take my family here every week, never been disappointed, Gus has done a fantastic job keeping this place at best quality.

We went in at lunch time and the place was busy. However we found ample seating. Everyone seemed to know each other yet we still felt welcomed.
The menu had do many choices. I went with a chicken finger wrap with fries. I got the spicy fries to give them a try. The wrap was big and well wrapped. The veggies were crisp and fresh. The chicken was perfectly cooked and tender. The sauce was just right and I enjoyed the wrap. The fries were decent but nothing to write to Unilocal about.
Give this place a try!

I have lived in the area for a couple years now, yes it’s a tough neighborhood sort of, oh well, I’m thrilled to be able to walk up street for the MOST delicious breakfast at rock bottom prices. It is packed on weekend mornings, but that tells you right there your getting ready to have a yummmy breakfast. Pancakes are so good and huge! They also DELIVER breakfast, nothing like having eggs and bacon and homefries with a HUGE belgium waffle with fruit on top that everyone can share delivered to your door when no one wants to cook breakfast. Home cooked food at its best.
The waitress was very nice. She brought a special sippy cup for my son and was friendly. The food came fast. Toaster broke and she was still able to get the toast out soon after, but we had enough food to hold us over. They carried our stroller in the back for us so it was not in our way also. The front counter to pay at is real busy I had to wait a little to get paid but wasn’t too big of a deal, I was full and happy it was only 13 bucks for a family of 3 so we will keep eating here for sure.

This restaurant was quick, cheap and delicious. Its the perfect place for a casual dining experience

I love this place. EXCEPT, its right next to prostitute lane, ha.
If you want cheap breakfast food, or lunch for that matter, this is the place.
I know the owner, Gus. great guy, really runs his business well. There are a lot of creepy people that come its just in such a diverse area that all types of people come in. Depending on who you get for a waitress the service is fast and they take care of you. I love little dine in restaurants like this one.
