Saint Vincent Hospital At Worcester Medical Center

My doctor and his team were great but there nurses from the 7 – 3 and 3 – 7 were so rude as far as the PCA and CNA staff, they are the sweetest people especially Joslyn and Oreatha

Best hospital in the area. I was well taken care of and appreciated the whole trip, which wasn’t hours long in the waiting room like other hospitals

I spent 6 hours in the ER and cannot express how amazing everyone was. I was seen within 30 minutes and was constantly checked on. They performed tests and made me feel comfortable. Everyone had a smile on their face. They were honest and professional. I’ll be writing them a hand written thank you. Just needed to put on here how wonderful they were! I will definitely be having my babies there when that day comes!

I’ve had good experience after good experience at this hospital. I mean as good as it can be when you’re grandmother is dying and you’ve been bitten by a dog in the face… I’ve been to routine physicals at the hospital as well as the intensive care unit and the ER. The hospital itself is gorgeous and HUGE. The way they treated my grandmother and our family in her last few days was heartwarming. What really did it in for me was the way I was treated when I visited the ER. The residents that were on duty that night treated me with such care and were so attentive. Even some of the other staff came over to console me. There wasn’t an on call plastic surgeon that night (it was about 3 am) but the resident that was there kept pushing for me bc I desperately needed one. They were able to get a hold of one and get him in for me. This doctor woke up and rushed to worcester FOR ME. Along with another specialist. I will always be grateful to the staff that was there that night.

Beautiful hospital. Nurse who denied me an epidural was not nice and I can say everyone else was, so its just a bad apple situation. They did make a point to ask me if there was anything important I wanted to make sure they did, religiously or spirituality wise and I asked them to please make absolutely sure to get the exact birth time correct for my baby, as I do astrology charts where exact time is everything, and they failed. The birth certificate said a time that was 4 hrs and some change completely off the marker, and they had to fix the error which thankfully I remembered to check the clock myself and told my mom to mark it down for me. I know it seems trivial but if I went out of my way to say it and they went out of their way to ask, they really should go out of their way to do it right. Did I mention the doctor who caught my baby yelled at me to stop pushing while she was halfway through my vaginal canal? That wasn’t cool either. Oh, and during labor on my way into maternal ward, in a wheel chair suffering through contractions, a nurse thought it would be funny not to open the doors and joke about this hospital being full and we’d have to go down the road. Not a good day.

The care is very good. The nurses are excellent. Where they fail utterly is in their billing procedures. The will try to get your deductible before your services. The danger here is that if you have anything outstanding from other services, they will not reimburse you until they absolutely have to. I was told that I «needed» to pay my deductible before my surgery. Subsequently, I was told by my health plan that there was no need to pay in advance and that what they had done was a violation of their contract with the health plan. So, try to get your money back and I was told that I would have to wait until the health plan paid the bill. I doubt most people have several hundred dollars just sitting around waiting to be used.
Other than that, I would say, they are a very good hospital and I have the utmost respect for the doctors and nurses.

Those of us who live in worcester or around worcester are blessed to know that such a great hospital exists so close by. While there are other hospitals in worcester with long waiting lines and disoriented staff, St. Vincents is a god send. I was seen for a broken arm this summer, and the entire treatment went smoothly from the time I set into the hospital and recieved an xray of the break, to the removal of the cast. I can’t say enough good things about the doctors and staff. The people who work here either truly enjoy working here, or they are great at hiding their resentment. The reason I chose St. Vincents in the first place over UMASS is that 3 years ago my father was treated here for open heart surgery. While the whole experience involving a heart attack was traumatic for all involved, I do have to say that I feel my father may not have survived if he didn’t end up at St. Vincents. I recommend this place to everybody I know.

They saved my life, in conjunction with Radiology, and have helped in many ways, working as a team. Parking is great, doctors, nurses, other staff are great. Location is beautiful. Their discharge office even helped me with insurance, which was a major step in my health care.

Had a very positive experience today at St. Vincent’s Hospital. Mom had some surgery. The pre admission team, surgical team and post op support were all amazing. Special mention to Dr. Philip Lahey who was amazing. Great valet service and a pretty atrium with free wifi so I could work and spend my 10 hour long day.

Unfortunately, I had the misfortune of being a patient here again.
The staff was great, very friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately it was a weekend stay so getting released was a chore though I’d put that on management and not the staff, or lack of it on the weekends.
Food was terrible, but then again, I wasn’t staying here for the food. If I could have, I would have wheeled myself to the atrium for some much better choices.

GREAT STAFF! Nice facilities! Food… ehhhhhhhhh… but who goes to a hospital to eat? Radiology is awesome, friendly, professional, prompt.

This is a review of the courtyard only. Took my sandwich to the tables in the courtyard. Admittedly, it was a late lunch, around 2PM. Not sure whose responsibility it is to police the tables, but I tried to find a clean table to enjoy my food. ALL of them had crumbs or food stains on them. Disappointing considering how good the sandwich was.
Hospital overall otherwise looks clean, bright and modern looking. Atrium with garden is a nice touch and very relaxing. Looks well taken care of.

Delivered my daughter here recently and had a great experience. The staff was accomodating to my (fairly bizarre) requests, professional and caring. Also, everything was spotlessly clean, which is key for a major germaphobe like me.
I would return to St. V’s if I was having a baby n the future.

We had a wonderful experience here when my husband had surgery and then was hospitalized here. We live in Boston, but had been referred all the way out here to Worcester to a surgical specialist for my husband’s condition. Surgeon did a beautiful job with excellent outcome and the recovery room team and floor nurses and staff couldn’t have been kinder or more on top of things. We’ve been around a lot of hospitals, and this one is top notch.

I have a special place in my heart for St. Vincent’s. They took great care of my Dad during the hard years of his fight with cancer. I think I spent more time in the ER with him than at work that year. We would watch the hustle and bustle of the dept as he laid there taking his IV of something he needed that particular time, talk about when I was a kid and laugh and yes cry.
The beautiful atrium with all the trees is just the right thing to have for all the stress going on as all hospitals have. Sometimes someone is playing the piano and it goes so well with the waterfall among all the flowers. They have a pizza and sandwich shop along side Dunkin Donuts for whoever doesn’t want to eat in the hospital cafeteria and yes that wonderful DD was my savior.
All in all as hospitals go, St. V’s is up there in my opinion. They took great care of my Dad with kindness, patience and respect. For that it’s a 5 star.
