Tried to rent a 10′ box truck for four days, found out the first day of the rental they had completely changed my reservation. After talking to the manager(who seemed understanding, but completely unapologetic for terrible customer service) I had to cancel the reservation completely. Luckily, found a minivan from National Rent-a-Car that will do the trick. *DON’T* bother renting anything from U-Haul, they definitely won’t honor your reservation. UPDATE: I noticed that they U-Haul main site said that your reservation is guaranteed or they will pay you $ 50. I called them up to complain and before even mentioning the online guarantee, they said«We are so sorry that happened. It looks like we owe you $ 50.» Interestingly enough, the main U-Haul company doesn’t pay that. The check comes from the local company who screwed up your reservation. So, if this happens to you, definitely call and get your $ 50. Our check arrived in about 2 – 3 weeks.
