This is the second visit in 3 days. Authentic Italian dishes outside of the city. Clean, great service, prices. Even though it was busy the owner Derik put me and my son at a 4 person table so we didn’t need to wait. This is the type of place that when you order your meal the food is so good I order additional items just to take home for others to try. Thank you Artie for introducing me to Café Assisi. I’m going to go to the gym a few extra times a week now, just so I can make this my new regular spot. I can’t wait to show others and continue exploring the menu. 5 stars all the way!

Great food, I had the mushroom ravioli it was fantastic. Prices are reasonable, the dining area is small and a bit crowded but it was like finding a restaurant from the North End in Wrentham. Parking was tight but over all I would highly recommend it and I will be back.

Optimistic! First…dessert was SOGOOD! I’m not sure if they make it themselves, but it was delicious! We ordered a piece of the chocolate cake and the carrot cake(YUM!) Okey doke, the food was good too. I just wish I knew they use a lot of green peppers. I ordered the butternut squash ravioli and the peppers were really dominating. I’d order the dish again, but ask that the peppers be omitted. I’ll probably try something new next time, but I’ll still ask if there’s peppers in it. Don’t get me wrong, I love peppers, but sometimes they don’t really go. Oh and whenever we try a new Italian place, we alway order the calamari. It passed the test. Spicy and fresh. Yum yum yum.

Love this place, a hidden gem reminiscent of the North End without the drive to Boston.

Food was swimming in sauce and — incredibly — water? Did they dump the pasta into a bowl they had just washed that still had water in it? Yuck. Ordered appetizers, they arrived in 5 minutes. Asparagus wrapped in prosciutto topped with a dollop of rubbery mozzarella? Not good. Dinner arrived 10 minutes later. While we were still eating appetizers. Rushed through our meal, noisy, crowded, waitress inexperienced or just bad, food inedible. Third time we have tried this place, as so many rave about it. Never again.

Everything here except the server was perfect. There was a good selection of food on the menu, the kitchen was fast, and the food was great.

Smaller restaurant but absolutely worth the squeeze. Absolutely delicious Italian food and the service was close to perfect. Only tips I can give are try to sit on the bar side of the restaurant as the other side is a bit chilly and come with a very big appetite! I will definitely be returning

Arrived here for lunch because we see the high rate on Unilocal. The place was packed for lunch, we had to wait a little bit to get seated. The waitress who serve us a little bit rude. We waited for a little while after seated before she came around to take our order. After gave her our order, we waited again for our main dish to arrived but no bread. Did she forgot or its didn’t come with it??? I asked her for the bread because I see every table around us were serve With bread. Our waitress said«your order doesn’t come with bread but if you want it I will bring it.» What!!! We always serve with bread in any Italian restaurant we went to. I’m sure she was forget, Without any apologize the fact she forget our bread. While we were eating our main dish, we accidentally over heard over our shoulder(each table were very close to each other), she were telling the next table about the daily special where we DIDNOT know that there were a daily special menu from the first place. We would of choose something from it because we didn’t like the menu choice we see. The foods were blah!!! The veal linguine were acidly taste and mushy… In the menu has no description of how they prepare or what kind of sauce. When it’s came, it’s a red sauce and the veal were fried. So unhealthy!!! The same like my fiancé dish, mushy.

Simply put, this is some of the best Italian you will have in Massachusetts. The sauce, gravy whatever you want to call it is great. We had the lasagna with two meatballs. Awesome. And we had the cannelloni with shrimp. Awesome red cream sauce. Only reason this isn’t 5 stars is I’m not thrilled with the clientele. Meaning — I was COMPLETELY over dressed. No one was dressed up. Some Jeans and sweatshirts even. But that’s okay, the food is fantastic. I can’t wait to go back and try the pizza

Ok, first you must know I am a chef, and can be over critical at times, but I went to café asisi, with high hopes, because everytime I drive by the place is packed. I ordered the gnocchi, which the flavor was delicious, but there was several, or should I say a dozen gnochii’s that were undercooked and I couldn’t even stick my fork through them. When I told the waitress I felt as though I was being brushed off, and sure enough no manager or owner came over to apologize, which I was shocked. I will give this place one more try, but after one visit I was not impressed.

Yup… this place is still 5 stars in my book. I was here for a recent late afternoon lunch with two girlfriends and although I have been here a number of times since my initial review, I thought it was time for an update . Even though it was 2:30pm when we arrived, the place was still packed with diners for lunch service. Thankfully there was a table available and no wait. Café Assisi continues to impress and even more so now since the owner has expanded what was a very tiny place into a roomier(but still small) restaurant. There is now a bar area with seats and several additional tables making for a roomier more comfortable place. I no longer regularly(read: almost never) eat pasta these days but on rare occasions I will indulge. For my lunch I ordered the chicken marsala which was served over a bed of perfectly al dente penne pasta so it was hard to resist. The chicken was so tender that I could cut it just with my fork… perfection. The sauce was silky and nicely redolent of the Marsala wine in which it was cooked but not sweet and cloying. One of my dining companions had the 4 jumbo ravioli with sweet Italian sausage which she loved and the other had the equally delicious(and beautifully plated) chicken piccata. I had a glass of nicely chilled Gavi wine… one of my favorites. Although it was only late afternoon, one of my dining companions was desperate to try the fig martini which she spotted on the cocktail menu. we all took sips of it… It was an outstanding cocktail served with a Gorgonzola stuffed fig on a toothpick. I was in cocktail heaven. This drink must be tried. The drink was the cocktail version of one of my favorite snacks which is fresh figs served with Gorgonzola cheese. So yummy was this drink, that I was inspired to infuse my own vodka with figs… it came out amazing and this drink will be on my holiday cocktail menu.(¾ of a pound of dried figs put into a liter of vodka. Put in a cool dark cupboard or cover with a cloth that keeps out light. Shake the mixture(I put mine in a large mason jar) and shake vigorously every day or two. I tasted it at the end of a week and it was perfectly figgy and nicely infused at that point. Different recipes suggest infusing the figs from 48 hours to a couple of week… the 7 days worked fine for my batch. The martini includes fig vodka and a small splash of Cointreau. Shake over ice in your cocktail shaker and pour into a martini glass. Stuff a fresh fig with Gorgonzola cheese, skewer on a toothpick and serve. And of course if all this is too much, just go to Café Assisi have a great meal and order this cocktail. I honestly have never had a bad meal here and have a number of friends and colleagues who rave about this place. It’s a winner. It is also such an oasis in the food-barren Wrentham Mass wilderness. As I mentioned in my first review, it’s really the only place to consider eating when shopping at the outlets there. Service is terrific, the bathroom is always totally pristine and it is just a fun place to come for guaranteed great food.

We arrived early before 4 with dinner service starting at 4. The butternut squash ravioli was over done served with limp vegetables and a non existent sauce. The veal and pasta was tough and both were overdone. The dish was smothered in a tasteless sauce. These hot dishes arrived quickly and due to the poor execution the ingredients were leftovers from lunch. Mediterranean salad with shrimp was a disappointment as well. Four not so jumbo shrimp had a nice flavor but they too were overdone. The salad had zero crisp. Service was poor at best. Received the check without asking and before dishes were cleared.

This weekend I had one of those serendipitous meals stumbling into a random place in a strange neighborhood, only to discover it’s one of the best places I’ve ever eaten. My husband and I went with a friend to the Wrentham outlets and needed some sustenance before the long drive back to Boston. Café Assisi looked decent online, but when we got there … WHOA. There was a crowd waiting when we walked in, but the atmosphere was so welcoming. The staff set us up with drinks — delicious red wine and a pumpkin martini. While we waited, we checked out the adorable couples of all ages canoodling over red sauce pasta. It took us a long time to decide on our order because everything looked so delicious, but I ended up with lobster ravioli with red sauce and I would recommend it 1000%. All the food was fine dining quality for Vinny T’s prices. And I’ve been daydreaming about their bread and seasoned oil ever since. On the way home, we decided that from now on the Wrentham outlets will just be the place we stop on the way home from Café Assisi.

Tonight was just a bottle of wine, some Prosciutto con Mozzarella(gone before I could take a picture) and some Calzones to go. We came to have appetizers and bring home some takeout. I always enjoy coming to Assisi for a meal, for drinks and appetizers at the bar or just for take out.

Called 30 minutes before closing and they welcomed me with no issues. Tucked away into a quiet neighborhood, you would not expect an Italian restaurant of such good class. Service — 5 Décor — 4 Food — 4.5 When you’re from out of town, service counts a lot. A simple restaurant with a small bar on the left side of the entrance, the décor has you in a local atmosphere to relax and enjoy. With limited amount of time, I had the Mediterranean salad(they made an individual portion) and Penne alla Abruzzo. Waitresses, thank you for your hospitality. I will be back.

It’s small. That’s the most negative thing I can say. But it’s cute. The service was very attentive and the wait staff managed the winter storm and late arrivals admirably. I had asparagus wraps which were wonderful with just a bit of warmed mozzarella and the fragrance of garlic Also homemade limoncello — smooth Veal wraps with Parmesan risotto and a lemony sauce My valentine had stuffed cannelloni with scallops and shrimp. The vodka sauce on hers was fantastic Desserts were not as spectacular as dinner but by then I did not care. Wife had peanut butter brownie cheesecake which she loved. I had a chocolate lava cake; the vanilla cream dressing it was great.

Such a cute find close to Wrentham Premium Outlets! It has traditional Italian options, huge variety and portions are very big! Service is very prompt, and everyone around us looked very happy with their food too. I liked seeing the family environment as well. I suggest getting the Zuppa di Vongole, Prosciutto con Mozzarella, Mediterranean salad as appetizers. And, let the waitress know what type of food you are craving, and the suggestions will be many!
