On a trip from KC to St. Louis a few days ago, my oil level light came on. I pulled into Abel’s, popped the hood, and could not get my(aluminum) oil cap off to add more oil. When I went inside, there were several attendants working at the counter. I told them my predicament and asked if they sold mits or something I could use to get the oil cap off. They said they did, but instead of just pointing to an aisle that contained car maintenance merchandise, one of the ladies asked if I would like help with removing the cap. A gentleman who was stocking the cooler also came over to help. When the three of us were unsuccessful in removing the cap, yet another worker who had been stocking a different cooler observed what was happening, grabbed a wrench, and came to help. And he got the cap off. All I can say is, this station goes ABOVEANDBEYOND. I have never experienced this much initiative and hospitality at a gas station. To the owner of Abel’s, these 3 workers should be given a raise. Having good people work for you gives you an advantage over other stations in the vicinity and is not something to be taken lightly. Well done, and a huge thank you to the three of you! This is the station I will stop at to get gasoline from now on when I go to St. Louis, instead of stopping in Columbia as I have for years. You guys have earned this lady’s business from now on.
