I went to Xquisite and got a full sew-in weave for the first time last week from Ms. Sheena! I love my hair! I had a 12:00 appointment and was seen right away! Everyone was helpful and very pleasant during my visit. I was all done and looking like a million bucks by 2:30!!! I couldn’t believe it ! Great service and she was fast… I’ll be back to Xquisite

I’ve been here on 4 separate occassions after a recommendation from a gf. I like that they are open 7 days and week and have later hours. But I’ve had it with the wait time, price, and the poor customer service from some of the staff members. My first experience was better than all the others I must say and I only returned hoping it would get better. Unfortunately it has not. I have 4C natural hair and came in for a press & curl. I read reviews on the stylist Lee and scheduled an appointment with her. She did an expectional job on my hair and was very personable. The shampoo girl was also very nice on this trip. But the wait time and the price are out of hand. Expect to be in this salon at least 2& a half to 3 hours for a job that should only take 1& a half hours tops. I paid $ 45 for a press and curl, $ 10 for a deep condition and $ 13 for a trim (really $ 13 for you to clip my ends!) ridiculous then I gave a $ 10 tip to Lee and a few dollars to the shampoo girl, overall I spent $ 80 for a style that will last me a few days. not a fan The individuals at the reception desk also have no idea about the promotions that are advertised to new clients or they know and do not care to take them off the bill which is unaccpetable. On my 3rd visit I scheduled with Ashley because Lee was unavailable. Her styling was good but I might as well have been a mannequin. She barely greeted me and seemed to be preoccuppied with her phone the entire time I was in her chair. And after a long workday and waiting 2 hours to get in her chair she could have at least put her phone down. I won’t be back.

I quit coming here about three years ago. Tried two different stylists. The first one over-processed my hair with a demi-permanent color which made the back of my hair break off. She never even told me my hair was breaking off! My final straw with her was when I had an appointment with her for a touch up on a very busy Saturday and she informed me(after being based and waiting for about an hour) that she had to go home because she wasn’t feeling well. I would have walked out if I wasn’t based. She said she would find someone else to do my hair. I overheard a heavy-set stylist tell her to not to bother asking her because she was already over-scheduled. Finally, a male stylist agreed to squeeze me in. Needless to say, I was at the salon that day from 9:00 am until just after 4:00 pm! I then began going to this male stylist regularly but there were several times when I arrived on time for my appointment and had to wait at least 20 minutes for him to arrive to the salon and then another 10 minutes while he got set up! He did a decent job for the time I went to him but my final straw with him was when he was rushing me through a relaxer touch-up and carelessly slopped some relaxer on my forehead. I wasn’t aware of what happened until my forehead began to burn really bad! He never apologized. He just wiped it off like nothing happened. To this day, I have a permanent scar on my forehead from the burn! Management here really needs to take a look at how they do business. Packing people in like sardines, making clients wait for over an hour on a regular basis for a scheduled appointment, poor customer service from both the stylists and the shampoo people, and charging such high prices for what you get does not make for good business. Playing a bunch of rap videos on their tv screen for an hour is lame, too. This place will never see me or my money again.

So far Xsquisite Hair has given me the best hair experiences I’ve found in the Philadelphia area. I’ve only gotten sew in weaves here. The shampoo and deep conditioning are always great. Even if I get to may appointment early I’ve never had to wait more than 10 minutes to get started. Charice always does a good job and never takes too long. Now that I’ve seen other shops in Philly, I’m happy to travel all the way to Cedarbrook to not have to deal with the bs. My only complaint is that I wish the weaves lasted a bit longer. Their technique is different from the one I had on the west coast, and the hair lasted much longer there.

I was there about 4 weeks ago for a hair appointment. I usually see Neena but since she is out on maternity leave I was paired with Ashley for my touch-up relaxer. I had a 2pm appointment, I sat for over an hour before Ashley came to relax my hair. I would have left but a girl already had based my hair. If her schedule was booked, I don’t know why I was scheduled. When she did finally get to me I felt rushed through my appointment. The incorrect relaxer was used on my hair as well. In my confirmation email I called to have them change it in the computer from affirm to influence and mentioned it again to the lady at the front desk when I checked in. When I went to cash out I found out they used affirm on my hair. She didnt do a great job with the relaxer either because I can usually go 6 – 7 weeks between relaxers and I am barely making it through four. I am very unhappy and won’t be returning to this salon. I emailed the owner and he said he would send me a $ 30 gift card for my troubles… which he never sent.

I haven’t been here in over a year so my review is a bit dated… but I’ll give it anyway. My 1st experience was to get a trim. I have natural(4b type) hair. Making my appointment wasn’t too difficult. My hair was washed and dried, then blowdried before my trim. I think I was overall content with the job but it wasn’t the best trim I’ve had. I know it’s hard to trim natural hair and I did not want my hair«bone straight» but I think given that, the trim was okay. My 2nd experience was get my hair colored because back then then had Aveda hair coloring. I made my appointment(again easy peasy). I chose the color I wanted and then the stylist proceeded to apply the color. Somewhere in between the application and the frequent checks, she must have noticed that the color was coming out how do you know«not as expected». You KNOW there is always something wrong when you are getting your hair done and the stylists goes to call another stylist to come take a look(lol). So, me not seeing what they are seeing, they convinced themselves that it looks«good.coming along just right». NOT. I wanted to take a look. Apparently the ends of my hair had old color which that did not allow it to respond to the new color. But my roots responded. My hair color is 1b, the color i wanted was sorta of orange-red. So imagine my roots being orange-red with a progression transition of colors darkening to my 1b ends. The stylists advice 1st was to redo the color process. OHHECKNAW. I will not be double processed. I’ve had that done before and it just jacked up my hair. So between my stylist and the other one(that was called over)…they were having this«oh, it kinda looks funky… yeah you can rock that» yada yada. Anyway, I decided not be mad because it wasn’t the worst thing that coulda have happened & I figured«Yeah I guess I can do funky». I made her rinse out what was left and I left to make peace with what was now on my head. In the end, I adjusted pretty well to the color and I really got to like it. The issue then became such that it was hard to duplicate the coloring I had since it happened as a «mistake». I tried to make another appt a year later to get another coloring session but they no longer used Aveda products so I had to go elsewhere. If not for that, I would have returned here.

I like this salon! That’s saying a lot coming from me, because I am not a big fan of salons in general. But this one is in fact, my preferred location whenever I want to get my hair done. They are open 7 days a week!!! That fact alone makes them invaluable. Another thing in their favor is they run a professional business. Unfortunately like every other salon, you tend to have looong waits, so bring along your book or magazines. One practice they have that kind of bugs me, and why I gave it 3 stars as opposed to 4, whether you ask for a stylist that is good with updos or one that is good with natural hair or anything specific– instead of stearing you towards a more experienced stylist, they will surely give you one of the newest girls just to fill her appt book. Maybe that’s good business in one sense, but on the other hand as a patron I am looking for a good end result and with that practice, it is not always guaranteed.

I will never go there again… I arrived on time… was getting a sew-in with an invisible part… I was told by the stylist that she could do this… well…she couldn’t, yes she was nice but I was utterly displeased walking outta there… if its something that you really cant do, dont waste anyone’s time and money and expensive indian hair«trying» to do…

I want to like this place more. They are open 7 days a week and they are full-service(except for eyebrows, so… I guess they aren’t full-service at all). But you can go here for braids, weaves, prom, and you’re fine. They are in the same mall complex as Hairtown, and next door to a good Chinese take-out spot. So due to sheer convenience I’m giving them 3.75 stars, which Unilocal rounded up for me to 4. But between the cost and the wait time, I can not fully endorse this salon without some serious reservation. Expect to spend at least 3 hours here for a touch-up… at a «slow» period in the middle of the week. Um, but at least they have music videos on big screen TVs to entertain you? Also, they use Aveda products only, so don’t go in asking for Mizani or Motions products. And, do expect a hefty bill. They have a few specials, like a discount on Thursdays for college students and reduced price on relaxers Monday and Tuesday. But even still you are going to shell out a lot of money. And with the way they get packed some times, you might not get the service you paid for. Just some food thought. I have seen some gorgeous hair styles walk out of the salon. I have also left with a couple questionable styles. Really be choosey about your stylist. There are many to choose from and they are all young, hip, and personable. Go in there and see who’s doing what, don’t just pick a stylist based on whose schedule works best fot you(unless of course it’s a haircare 911 crisis). You’ll probably be satisfied with this place if you go. But ugh, it can be so extra.

This salon is the dope!(Excuse my old slang) They are open 7 days a week, they except walk-in, they have discounts, and they can do some hair. It is kind of far from me, but if I lived closer I would be here once a week. Oh. They also use Aveda products. The last time I went I got a touch-up and trim. I was looking fly afterwards!
