Sad beyond words at the loss of the See Vue. Magical time trip back to a more caring, intimate, charming world with gentle people and accommodations that were beguilingly individualistic. Lovely memories of getaways in the Crow’s Nest, the Secret Garden Suite, the Mountain Room and others whose names I’ve forgotten. Always felt like refuge when I arrived on their doorstep. So sorrowful to know that it has been swept into the dustbin of time and replaced by yet another soulless plastic box.

Yes, «as good as it gets» for a magical Oregon Coast stay over. It’s gone now… I’ve been going there for over 30 years! It’s changed hands a few times. Back in the 80s, when I was a regular, the owner would bake absolutely terrible bread and bring it to you in a little basket covered with a cloth to keep it warm. I’d have to wrap it in newspaper and dispose of it off site. Jackie, that’s it Jackie’s SeeVu Motel. Gorgeous views and beach access(which eroded severely over the years), and quirky, individually decorated rooms. It was bought by a very lovely couple who totally understood what a gem this place was. They cleaned and spruced it up and kind of upgraded the quirkiness. Then they sold it… don’t know how many times it changed hands after that… and yes, there were several entries from me over the years in that journal! I’m in Missouri now and so sad that the SeeVue will not be there should I return.

It breaks my heart to read that SeaVue is no more. Our memories will last forever. We spent a few day these last year. We stayed in the crows nest room, and especially was thrilled to read the years of diary entries, the hiding of small items and change in the room that was documented in the diary. We left from our stay feeling like we a left a piece of ourselves there. We even purchased a new diary for the room as we had made the last entry in it. So sad. the motel wasn’t much to look at and the rooms were oh so so… but the magic we found in those few days, the diaries, and the time spent just snuggling, watching the ocean and just enjoying the quiet will forever be written on our hearts. Good bye old friend. We will miss you. We came to the coast to stay with you this week… such a loss of history and traditions. Pam and Larry V

Sad to say but this place is closed. Not only is it closed it has been bulldozed to the ground and replaced with a handful of cookie cutter, cold, and impersonal cottages. I was in the Newport area on vacation this past week and made a special trip down the coast just to get a glimpse of the SeeVue. I wanted to bring back memories of a very special week I spent there a few years ago. That place was absolutely magical and now it’s gone. I don’t know what the circumstances were that culminated in the place being wiped off the face of the earth but I hafta tell you I feel like I just found out about the death of a dear friend. RIP See Vue, you shall live on in the hearts of many a visitor who came to know and love you.

Loved this place! No doubt it was the best place to stay within 100 miles. Clean, calm, great view, decent bed, and it has character. We stayed in the Santa Fe, and it was great. People mostly kept to themselves, but were friendly upon passing. Close to everything. Wifi worked consistently so I could conduct business when needed.

I hesitate to write this review as I don’t want all of humanity to know about this place. I came to getaway from PDX. The Secret Garden suite is huge — full kitchen and bathroom. Can sleep 6 with two bedrooms and a futon. Great view and lawn area and amazing private sanded beach where my sibe and I were the only. That’s one of the best things about it — pets allowed. In fact, my suite had a fenced side yard. Wifi, but no phone and tv makes one relax read, drink wine at the ocean. I will be back many, many times over…

My husband and I have stayed here for a beach weekend three years in a row and we just love it. It’s a little bit outside of town and with only 10 rooms, you really feel like you have your own private getaway. Rooms are cozy, clean, and have a marvelous view of the ocean. We always get one with a little kitchen too in the event we don’t feel like going out to eat. There is a new trail to access the beach that makes it a two minute walk. Pet friendly rooms are a plus so the dog gets to come! No TV(which we consider a plus!), and there is WiFi, which is great! We always come in the off season to take advantage of the cheaper rates, but I think they are pretty competitive in general and very affordable. If you’re looking for a low key spot in Yachats, this is the place!
