Great food, better than others in Yakima! Good prices and the service is always great. Definitely need to eat here if you’re in town

Don’t waste your time at this shjt hole. Go to the one at Glenwood Square. The service is ok but whoever they have in the kitchen is sinking this place like the Titanic. Over cooked this undercooked that, stale chips, enchilada sauce for salsa, crusty refried beans, watery soft drinks, sticky tables etc.

Dimly lit romantic place. Best. We ordered the usual steak fajitas. It was obviously a
House recipe instead of the typical greasy salty flavor. This was sweet and lightly spicy. An order for one was more than enough for us 2 plus we had some to take home. Asked for extra flour tortillas and there was no charge for them. That’s a good sign of better than the typical place. The dipping sauce is spicy. Great for helping get those margaritas down. We had the cabo Rita. Great flavor with respectable amount of teq. We also had a mango. It was phenomenal BUT I don’t think it had any teq. In it. That was my only disappointment. We were looking for a quiet dimly lit place. This was perfect. Most everyone there were couples. Not your basic Mexican restaurant. The music was at a perfect volume. Music was great and not your typical Mexican restaurant music. Very classy place without being snobbish. Servers were dressed nicely. Just can’t say enough about this place. We’ve eaten at 100’s of Mexican and Texmex places from Texas to Florida to the northwest and this is the nicest place for the money. 14.99 for fajitas. 8.50 for Rita, a little spendy. I’d rather spend a little more than feel like I’m in a hog house with 100 other guests. This is your romantic dinner place, not my choice for greasy Mexican lunch on Black Friday. I would give this place 4.75 stars but I can’t. It’s worth more to me than 4 but less than 5 but it’s better than letting the overall score go down so I’ll rate a 5.

If you don’t eat here, it is your loss! I went there last night with friends. It was absolutely amazing! We’re here on business from other states and really wanted to eat somewhere locally owned. We the margarita our waitress suggested was delicious! Shaken and poured table side. The mole enchiladas were exquisite! Out waitress was very gracious, as we got there an hour before closing. We were not ignored and had superior service. I will definitely return there if I am ever in Yakima again.

Portions and drinks are HUGE! Food was good. We were hoping for something more authentic, but for typical Mexican food this place is good and has a nice atmosphere.

This is my go-​to restaurant in Yakima. Huge portions, great sauces (especially the mole) and great margs. Their service is usually excellent.

I live 2 minutes from Xochimilco… I recommend the nachos, the steak quesadilla, and their margarita … Best dinner around!

Had the carne asada plate, really tasty fresh meat with plenty of flavor and a huge grilled jalapeño to go with it.
Try the michelada –clamato with a bit of lemon juice –ice and beer definitely a great sprint or summer time drink.

One of my favorite Mexican places in town. Hugeeee drinks. You get what you pay for here. You won’t be disappointed.

I drove 110 mile to have so freaking amazing Mexican food…

Good avg Mexican food. Solid menu. Prices alil high, but overall its okay. Nothing stands out but u will leave satisfied.

This location is BAD! Save yourself the trip and head to their Tieton location instead for significantly better food, drinks, service and most importantly, ambience!
I find it ridiculous that these two are affiliated with each other — such a let down!

We really want to like it… There were some great reviews, it was clean with nice interiors. The service was fantastic but the food, not so much. The chicken was so over cooked it was rubbery. And how do you get the coke mixture wrong? We should have known by the 2 cars in the parking lot, most likely the chef & waitress. :(

Visited Yakima Valley over the 4^th of July weekend. After a hot afternoon cycling through area vineyards we were looking for something nourishing and fun. We found it at Xochimilco.
Our waitress was very courteous, helpful with drink and entrée selections and offered to swap out my wife’s margarita when it arrived with salt on the glass rim. She decided to keep the the beverage and ordered a second with her meal.
I ordered the Mexican Molcajete and my wife had the Camarones Ala Plancha. Our meals were especially tasty and expertly presented. The portions were very generous in my opinion and made for a great meal the next evening after a day long drive back to the East Side.
If we ever find ourselves in the Yakima area or are passing through, I would plan on another visit.

I feel like they are going downhill a bit. When they first opened, the service was amazing, the price acceptable to the food portions, and the atmosphere great. Last week I went in after being gone for college only to find the seats cracked, the service terrible and the amount of food small for the price they were asking. Their root beer is amazing but they had ran out of it. Too pricey for the quality and portions of food.

This is our new go-​to place when we come over from Seattle. Very authentic food and great drinks.

I decided to have lunch here today since I was coming to Yakima to pick up a puppy. I wish I had asked my breeder where to eat instead of picking this place. My lunch was $ 17 including tip which was outrageous. All I had was a combo plate of a chicken enchilada and a very small cheese chile relleno which came with rice and beans and I had a soft drink. My favorite taco truck in White Center (Seattle) has much better food at a third of the cost. There was a sprinkling of iceberg lettuce instead of a salad. The food was covered with cheese instead of just a garnish of cheese. I was so disappointed at the quality, the presentation and the exorbitant price.
The restaurant has seen better days. The booths had badly ripped vinyl seats and sadly stained upholstered backs. The carpet needs to be replaced. The décor is very dated. I was tempted to peek in the kitchen but was afraid to. Oh well, live and learn.
I was tempted to give a 1 but the servers were very nice.

Almost didn’t go there because the Unilocal score was 3.5, but ended up there anyway. Boy, am I glad we did! It was delicious! First, we couldn’t stop eating the very tasty and never-​ending chips and salsa. Also, our entrees were to die for! One warning: when you order a plate of nachos, just order a to-​go box right then. It’s enough food for about 4 – 6 people. It was so good that I wanted to try to finish it, but that would have caused me serous injury.
People have mentioned the interior in other reviews. Yeah, it needs a refresh, but if you stay away just because of that you’ll be missing out.

Xochimilco has tasty food, but I wish it could do something about its interior. It was kind of like eating in a dungeon. A little on the dreary side, my friends. But maybe it’s lighter in the daytime?
What it lacked in décor, it made up for in the carne asada burrito and the al pastor. Call me American, but every once in a while I want my Mexican food served to me on a scorching hot, manhole cover-​sized platter. And Xochimilco succeeds in this regard! Definitely more food than any person should eat but I still gave it my best go. And then again the next morning when I inhaled the leftovers.
Service was great when we went. A solid 3 stars.

Enjoyed the food, drink and service. The décor transports you out of Yakima! in a good way. ;) Large portions, so go there when you’re hungry! I look forward to eating here next the time I’m in the area.
