This is easily one of the best deli’s one will encounter in there life. I’ve only ordered prosciutto sandwiches there so I cannot speak to anything else, but simply based on the quality of the bread, the fresh mozzarella and quality of prosciutto I know for certain everything else is on point. They are also a full scale butcher and tiny grocery stocked with speciality Italian items. Will definitly return

I was there last week and have been a customer over the years. The workers and owners are very friendly and make a real effort to accommodate. The appetizers and cold cuts are very good. The steaks and other butcher meats are inexpensive but not always the best quality. If you want top quality but expensive meats, try Tarry Market in Port Chester. If you want top quality Italian deli, try Arthur Avenue. This store is very good but not quite on the same quality level as those. A major turnoff: the workers don’t wear gloves consistently when handling meat or making sandwiches. Customers should not have to remind deli workers to wear plastic gloves. This deli is a great local alternative to Arthur Ave but should improve the quality of its steaks and other meat. The deli could also improve significantly by requiring that all workers wear gloves when handling cold cuts, sandwiches and meat.

Spent days looking for a pork shoulder blade roast… No luck. Not at Stew Leonard’s(meat dept didn’t even know what I was talking about), not at stop&shop. No where. I decided to take it old school and visit a butcher shop. Even several butcher shops I contacted didn’t have the right cut(and tried to sell me on «similar» items). I was so happy to find A&S because 1) they had the exact cut and knew what I was talking about 2) they were friendly when I arrived and had my item all wrapped up and set aside 3) they were able to explain the different cuts to me and made me feel valued as a customer. They specialize in obtaining cuts not typically available in the grocery store. A lot of places just sell whatever they get but A&S does their own cuts so can give you want you want. I hope this place is around for a long time. I am def going to be a regular here for all my meat needs. Additional: full out Italian goods sold here. Fresh rainbow cookies, pastas, etc… Deli looks pretty appetizing too! Haven’t tried it yet though.

Just the best Italian combo sandwich ever made anywhere! Crusty sesame-covered bread stuffed with the best Italian deli meats, cheeses, roasted peppers, etc. Big enough for two people, it’s hard not to inhale the whole thing. My friends and I always get them to bring to Yankee games. Other times, this is a great source for Arthur Avenue quality groceries.

The absolute best for Italian specialty items, fresh products, sandwiches, cold cuts, and both hot and cold prepared foods. The staff is great, the food is the best, and this is an absolute must for Italian home cooking.

I ordered a fresh ham to prepare for my first time hosting a holiday. It was amazing! So juicy and tasty. I was very impressed, as were my guests. The variety of Italian antipastas was vast. A little costly, but worth the expense.

Just as good as Arthur Avenue… if not better! I make a weekly pilgrimage down from Hartsdale(I used to live in Yonkers, then Eastchester) for the fresh mozz(awesome), broccoli rabe, chicken cutlets(cut and pounded), chop meat(all beef and mixed), short ribs for sauce(fall off the bone tender) and all my cold cuts(they just taste better from here then other places for some reason), fresh ricotta. They have have it all and its all TOP Quality.

THISPORKSTOREISANITALIANHERO! Recessed in the back corner of the Highridge Shopping Center is a hidden gem in Yonkers. Although this store shares a space in the same shopping center as Pathmark(which must be at least ten times larger), there are so many things you can’t find anywhere else around here. To be honest, you’d have to travel down to Arthur Avenue to find any of the goods tucked away in this Meat Shop. The Italian Combo at your typical Subway might have salami, pepperoni, and ham. Frankly, that’s not Italian enough for me. At A&S when you ask for an Italian Combo you’re going to get prosciutto, hot or sweet soppressata, mortadella, and capicolla. If you’re a Sopranos fan and capicolla sounds unfamiliar to you, then perhaps you’ve heard it pronounced in its Neapolitan dialect as «gabagool.» Add a few slices of provolone, toss on some hot cherry peppers, douse it with some O&V, and serve it up on a hero and you’ve got the A&S Italian Combo. No offense to some of the younger counter guys, but I’d rather one of the old school butchers make it for me. These guys know how to slice the meats paper-thin and you don’t have to beg them to do it right. This place has it all! Want to get homemade pasta? These guys make their own manicotti, ravioli, and stuffed shells. Need some tomato & basil or meat sauce? These guys sell it to you by the quart. Too lazy to cook any of those things yourself? This place even has classic hot dishes like Lasagna, Chicken Marsala, Eggplant Parmigiana, and Chicken Scarpariello. Don’t go a friend’s house empty handed. On top of their display cases they offer seasoned fresh mozzarella, sweet fire roasted red peppers, and grilled artichoke hearts, all of which have been marinated in olive oil. All of these choices are made in-store and I never leave without picking up at least ½ pound of each one. Here’s the only rub. Want to be able to waltz in and out of here in a few minutes? Depending on the time of day or day of the week, that’s just not going to happen. The word is out on the place and its no secret to the neighborhood. So grab your ticket and browse around the shop while you wait to be called by their crew.
