Didn’t get to make an order. The customer service was so poor, decided to get food elsewhere.

First time here since I didn’t want to trek to LA caridad. Server looks like he wanted to run out of the place. seems like the owner, heavy set guy is rude to staff like he he was me. I was the only one in there. asked server to try to pick me some of the bigger pieces if the pulled pork and he said he couldn’t? Anyway told the owner smelled like gas in there and he took umbridge to that for some reason. No. hello when you walk in. no thank-​you s when you walk out. Food was pretty good but won’t go back because if the other stuff.

Food is ok. Been there a couple of times but like all the other reviews said, the guy behind the counter, the one who may be or acts like the owner is a complete fool and rude to no end. Like he doesn’t need another dollar. surprised they’re still in business with so many feeling the same way. Well he sure won’t get my dollars again. Last time i was in and ordered $ 60 worth of food i asked for two empty small soup containers and he said no. i offered to pay for them (4 for $ 1 at the dollar store) and gave this big story. i was ready to leave and let him keep my order but the young worker talked him into it. Real Fool.

More like 4 stars– but i can’t believe the bad reviews.
Regardless if the service– the food is delicious. I eat here often.

This place is a joke, rude staff, they dont even know what time their sign says they open, and refused to make an item that is on their menu for the simple reason that i was just ordering 2 plates, MANGU AND EGGS is not that difficult to make. I would rather taco bell than give these people my business.

mediocre food and very rude people working behind the counter. stopped in there to pick up dinner 1 night after a busy day. Waited at least 5 minutes before the man behind the counter aknowledged me. Ordered a meal for 4 with an extra pork chop. As the man began to pack my food I noticed he had given me white rice instead of yellow with my order. When I mentioned to him that I ordered yellow rice, he argued with me even though I showed him the receipt that clearly said yellow rice. Fast forward to dinner– the food was super greasy and the meats tasted like they say under a heat lamp all day. Never again.

I tried to give this place another shot and of course it disappointed me once again. I ordered some black beans and when I got home the container didn’t have not even one bean!!! Dirty water is what I got.

The food is way better than other Dominican restaurants in the area, I’ve never had a problem with the staff. They generally just take my order, fulfill and receive payment. Pretty straightforward. The place isn’t dirty from what I can see but I didn’t get a tour of the kitchen. Dominican food can be greasy, their food is no less greasy than my mothers.

Food is very good but the owner is the rudest person on earth also they don’t deliver and now he doesn’t take credit or debit cards so dumb

Food is decent and owner is an ass. How do you expect to get new customers in when your a wise guy.

I’ve been a fan of Lola’s food since I discovered it a few years back. From the Chicharon de pollo, the stewed chicken, Shrimp Mofongo, Pernil… I’ve never had a bad meal in there. Meats are seasoned through the entire piece, and down to the bone. Even the beans (black or red) are a meal by themselves with some rice. The kids love the queso blanco (fried white cheese) and the empanadillas.
There has been a slight increase in price in the past two years, but I guess that’s inflation and operating costs. I’ve never felt it wasn’t worth it. I will have to agree witha few of the reviewers that in the past, I’ve experienced some of the attitude when the younger woman was working the counter. However, the last three times I’ve been here, the young man that works the counter has been nothing but courteous. Speaking of counter, the place is really only dine in if you don’t mind eating at the counter stools as there are no tables.
All that said, if you’re craving authentic latin food, you can get your fill here at Lola’s. Probably good idea to park in the back municipal lot as the street parking is sometimes scarce.

Food is very good the only problem is the owner she’s one of these people that has a natural attitude and can come across as rude and abrupt. That keeps it from getting an extra star from me. Haven’t been here in almost a year if not more hopefully she’s changed and has notice that all the bad reviews center on her attitude.

Really just meh. Beef stew is the dryest I’ve ever had. White rice could use some salt. Black beans need flavor of some kind. Anything would help because the beans taste like they’re just warmed up out of the can. Overall, the food is not memorable. I’m not rushing back any time soon.

They’re food is phenomenal without a doubt! And they have improved on their service the last time I went to pick up food! Very friendly people :-)

The food was very good. The atmosphere was nice, the prices were as expected. I think they were very fair. The service on the other hand was less than adequate. My server was very rude and inattentive. I’m being very generous with this 3 star review. I may or not return.

Good food, a little expensive, but being that there are not enough Dominican/​Spanish spots in this neighborhood it was great.
One problem though, last time I was there I saw some serious crawling health violations (that I seriously hope are resolved) so I don’t think I could ever eat here again.

Everything was very well prepared and prices are good. You must try the Fresh juices, highly recommended verses getting soda. If you’re having a lot of people over, they have catering for those spur of the moment visits from inconsiderate family. Killer convenient location. They’re off central ave., helpful and laid back, though not particularly fast service. I did encounter a slight attitude from a worker as another Unilocaler explained but it could have been due to a number of things. Their food is awesome so I’ll get over it!!!

The food is pretty good everything tasted great. When I first walked into this place I didn’t know you needed to go to the cashier to place your order since she was on the phone the whole time. It would of been easier if I would of just ordered the food right from the guy since he’s standing right there. They really need to work on their service. My other problem the lunch special is should come with a soda cup or can don’t matter. I gave it 4 stars instead of 3 because of two things:
1. Only real Spanish restaurant that I know of in Tuckahoe.
2. The food is pretty good.
