Versai Wine Bar

Last night (Tuesday), my boyfriend and I finally made it to Versai Wine Bar. I had an expired Travelzoo voucher, I needed to use.
Upon entering, we were graciously greeted by a gentleman named Richard, who would soon after become a man we’d look forward to seeing again, real soon. Richard took my information down, spoke with a manager, and offered us a spot, indoors or out.
The outside area, connects with Fitness Grill, same owners, and offers two firepit table areas, other small and large tables (with lights and ambience), or the inside area with wine bottles galore, statue lamps, and a winery-​feel. We selected the inside, where it was more intimate for us.
Richard is a fine, young man. He is experienced with the menu, wine pairings, and wine/​beer itself. He introduced my BF to a fabulous beer, of which he deeply enjoyed. I am a Moscato girl and was able to sample a few on hand, before selecting the sweetest of course. They even had one that I’ll return to buy, that included mango flavoring and would accompany a nice fruit/​cracker/​cheese plate, for a picnic in the park, someday.
We decided on the mini cheese plate (you can get a larger size), and the flatbread. The presentation for both, was picture worthy, and the taste out of the park!!! Richard was there constantly, to check on us, converse with us, and even inform us further about certain wines, how other dishes would go with other varieties we considered, and told us the nights they offer live music! He literally became part of our dining experience, and made the night more memorable.
After our full bellies, we just didn’t want to leave! Richard again, selected a red that he felt we’d enjoy and was perfect for after-​dinner time. We sipped, talked, had the bottle corked, and were pleased with the 20% off we received. My fiancé took me here for a pre valentines date and it was great! It’s a small intimate space which is the perfect setting to wind down with a glass of wine. They have a great selection of wines as well as beers and cocktails!
We originally heard of this place through groupon and will definitely be back. We each had 2 glasses (wine and beer), ordered 2 appetizers (versai toast and pretzel bites) and had the most fantastic crème brûlée. All for $ 60! Not to mention it was delicious!
Nolan was there to help and offer suggestions for wines as well. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars was because towards the end of our evening it got really busy and it was hard to get a hold of our bartender. Those boys were really working their tails off! I just think they need more staff during those busy hours to help the two men out.
Overall it was a perfect date night!

Great wine bar, and happy hour. Happy hour pricing was good. Service was excellent. I would have given them five stars but the steak appetizer was not good, the wine glaze was overpowering and overly sweet. The thin crust pizza’s were awesome and paired great with their wine flights. They had a large selection of wine. Great atmosphere will be returning.

Can the service be anymore terrible? I sat down at a table and waited 10 minutes and no one got to us I finally stood up and they helped me. Selection was okay but don’t plan on coming here anytime soon

Came for the unveiling of Rezvani, one of a kind car. Mellow and nice ambience with indoor and outdoor seating. Had the salmon and lamb, both very delicious. The lamb was not gamey and very tender, I was quite skeptical turned out to be a great choice. Cheesecake dessert was rich and creamy, a unique style here. There was live music the Sunday I was here, great solo music performance (forgot to get the musician name). Wine and jazzy music, can’t beat that for a Sunday evening. On top of that, got a great view of the eclipse of blood moon. A memorable night.

This is a great place! The guy who helped us was very nice and extremely knowledgeable. He helped us pick the perfect wine! There was a musician performing while we were there and he was amazing! Will definitely be back!

Shane and Paul did a nice job making me feel very special. I have just come off chemo and wanted to go out for a nice dinner with good wine. I had an old coupon that I received while I was sick but couldn’t use. By the time I was well enough to use it had expired. Paul honored it and Shane took good care of me. We ordered appetizers and a flight of the bold reds. Everything was very good but most important I felt very special. Thanks guys!

I must say this place was awesome, warm, and inviting. They have a great wine selection and the food tasted good. The staff and owner were very helpful and welcoming. I would definitely come back and recommend this place to people who want a chill and relaxing night.

Love this place! We got an amazing deal on wine Wednesday and received outstanding service from Care and Paul. They made us feel so welcome and we’ll be sure to be back!

Nice décor, selection was fine. Service was terrible!
Sat down at a table waited for 10 min and finally went and asked if anyone would be serving our table. Placed an order for a couple of glasses of wine, finished the wine and waited. No one came by to ask how we were doing, if we wanted another glass… etc. After another 10 min of waiting with empty glasses I had had enough and asked for the check. Won’t be going back.

Pros: Good wines, nice ambiance especially when there’s live music, great staff
Cons: clientele seems a bit stuffy

This is a great place to come enjoy good food and a nice glass or bottle of wine. This is a hidden gem. The appetizers are amazing and wine selection is vast.
…I really enjoy the ambience as well, a great date place .I come here often and have never had a bad time nor do I have any complaints. A great place to learn about wines if you have little knowledge. If you are a guy on a budget or cheap skate or cut coupons like my ex. dont come here. lol other wise fellas it is a nice place to take a lady. Music on the weekends too! cute patio.

Terrible service! My husband and I were just there less than 30 minute ago and we were completely ignored. After sitting around for ten minutes, we had to search someone out for a menu and after we got the menu we waited 15 min and no one ever came back to take our order so we left. There were only 4 other people in the place. Probably worst service we’ve gotten– Can’t remember the last time I left somewhere without even being acknowledged!

My mom and I enjoyed the night. Our waiter was not bad to look at and we’re convinced Carlos Santana was there. Food was good but pricey. We had a few wine flights and ordered more. Went for a happy hour and some food and ended up spending $ 150. I’d definitely go back for the music and ambiance but on more of a budget.

I see and honestly want to like what they are doing here, but when the customer service was as bad as it was when I went for my first time I find it difficult to want to go back. It was Saturday night and by no means was it busy, but trying to get service was like trying to win the lotto. It took eight minutes for a server from fitness pizza to address us and bring us wine menus and prompty inform us that we had sat ourselves on the fitness pizza side. Hmm now that’s weird because the table we sat at was right in front of the wine bars doors and there were people seated with wine menus clear around the corner on the fitness pizza side. She was so gracious to inform us that seeing as it wasn’t busy for them that she wouldn’t kick us over to the right side… awww how sweet. From that point it took about 10 minutes for Manuel to come up to us to ask if we wanted to order and another 5 – 10 minutes from that point to get our single glasses of wine. He checked on us all of never and only came back to give us the bill. I would say that maybe he was overwhelmed, but if it weren’t for the live music I am certain I would’ve been able to hear to crickets chirping.
For a few positive notes: Their wine selection is fantastic and their sangiovese wine was delicious once it reached a lovely room temperature and had a moment to breathe.

Great little spot with excellent space for the beautiful lights on the shady patio. Huge selection of wines, champagne, sparkling wine, specialty cocktails, and ales. Also have a large selection of delicious appetizers.
Care was my server this afternoon, and was quick. She took Care of me… pun intended. She brought me my order lickety spilt and suggested a Muscato for my GF. It was delicious really cold in the class was cool!
Well recommended we will return!

Versai has great food and good wines. It’s a little too pricey for me to frequent as much as I would like, but I guess that’s my problem :) If I had a lil more extra income to spend on wine and snacks, I would probably be here a lot more often! I like that both Versai and Fitness Grill have healthy menus!
The wine selection is always pretty good and from many different countries, you will usually find something from a producer you may not be familiar with, which is always fun! They do have some really high end bottles, which is pretty cool to see. Definitely out of my price range, but nevertheless I am glad they have them available for the wealthy folk ;) Most of the wines by the glass are in the double-​digits, they do have a few $ 8 and $ 9 wines, but don’t come here expecting to see many $ 5 glasses… it’s not that kind of place.
Most of the small plates that I’ve had have been really good. But I think my favorite so far is the Versai Toast, it is thin whole wheat flatbread with herbs, pecorino and smoked gouda, turkey bacon, sun-​dried tomatoes and onion crisps… I am salivating just thinking about it right now! The Raviolis were just ok and too expensive for what you get, I was really hoping they would be something special because I have had housemade raviolis that sound similar elsewhere and they have been magnificent! Hopefully they tweak them a bit.
They have live music on the weekends, it’s usually a one man band type acoustic vibe and makes for an enjoyable evening.

Versai is a cute little romantic place where you and your significant other can hideaway for a bit while sipping on a glass of wine and enjoy live music. My explanation for the ³⁄₅ stars is as follows:
When we arrived, there was only one other couple there sipping on wine, and three servers at the bar. They could see us, but didn’t motion or signal for us to sit down. So we waited about two minutes until I felt silly and finally approached them to ask where we would sit. The servers were kind enough, but I had to knock off one star for that.
The décor is beautiful. Just what I would love to see for a little hideaway. You’ll have to see it to experience it.
The wine selection is expansive. The appetizers and entrees were delicious (we had the stuffed dates with gorgonzola– WOW). But I had to knock off another star for the prices (too high considering the location). We ordered the Rose wine flight and a port wine. Both pricey, considering we know what wines/​flights/​stems of wine usually go for.
Overall, it’s a place we will return to again, but not soon. Maybe on a once a year basis.

I was in Yorba Linda looking for somewhere to buy a great bottle of wine and found Versai. I was pleasantly surprised by the large variety of wines on their menu and by the amazing décor.
Bringing back a group of friends so we can dine al fresco!
