Service was slow, even though there weren’t many people there. Food was meh. at best. Soups did not taste fresh, and everything else tasted like cheap diner food. They really need a new cook, and to get their stuff together.

My family ate Thanksgiving dinner here this year(Thank you, Embers and your staff for being open on a holiday!) We made reservations for 12 and were promptly seated as soon as we arrived. Our waitress handled our group and her other tables pretty well. She took our orders very quickly, and anyone who got a soup or salad in our group got it right away. However, we had to constantly flag someone to refill our long-empty drinks and it took over an hour for us to get our food. The food was just ok. The majority of our group got the Thanksgiving turkey dinner, and the general consensus was that it was bland and needed more seasoning. My husband got a fish sandwich and didn’t like it at all. He said the fish filet was too thick and the breading was soggy. On the other hand, I had the crab legs, and not only were they very reasonably priced, they were also delicious. For some reason, it took 30 minutes for the hostess to cash us out.

Went there for lunch after church one Sunday, and my wife ordered a pulled pork sandwich. All of the food came, and generally, everything was fine until my wife bit into her sandwich and found a hunk of cartilage or something that was inedible. We caught the waitress’s attention and showed her, and she immediately agreed with us that whatever it was should not have been in the sandwich, so she took it back to get a new one. A few minutes go by, and the waitress brings us back the same sandwich, telling us the manager/owner was in the kitchen, and said that it was perfectly normal for a pulled pork sandwich. She was not allowed to get a new sandwich made up. She set the plate down & apologized, but said there was nothing she could do. We all picked at the meals we had, paid our bill & walked out. Vowed to never go back there again. When there’s a blatant mistake, a restaurant should simply fix it for the customer. Our waitress’s initial reaction was correct — she tried to fix it, but she was not allowed to do the right thing. It’s too bad that the owner/manager of Embers does not understand customer service, and doing what is right for the customer.

So when contacted about the horrible experience we received and why Ember’s can’t take constructive criticism, I was lied to and told that a manager«Bob» addressed my problem when I was there. When I brought up the fact that no manager addressed the problem I was then cursed at and told never to set foot in her restaurant again. Obviously judging by the attitude of the manager(maybe owner) the maturity level of this restaurant is at an all time low and they are of the attitude they can do no wrong. You know what’s funny? There’s another restaurant on that road that I’ve seen how they’ve dealt with other customers and they have the same attitude. Now I personally never had any issues out of the other restaurant so I won’t say the name of it; but maybe it’s that road. Maybe all the restaurants on that road are managed or run by jerks.

Hadn’t been to this York classic for quite some time and decided to check it out for a girlfriend’s catch up lunch.. It looks like there were some renovations, much more natural light in front dining room. The server was very pleasant. The lunch specials menu had quite a few tempting options. I had the grilled portobello mushroom panini and took half of it home along with the coleslaw side to enjoy later. I’ll be back.

Ember’s has always been our go to steak house to have our food. Enjoyed many a times the jambalaya but their menu completely changed recently and at this point I don’t know what they’re up to but they didn’t have their act together at all the last time making me wonder if we are going to stop going after 12 years. I’m hoping it’s a testing transitional moment kind of like under construction, so hopefully next time we go in a few weeks it will be completely back to the way it was or better. Would hate to see a delicious home neighborhood Steakhouse go by the side and be run over by chain run restaurants.

Owner is extremely rude and doesn’t know how to treat her own employees let alone customers. The food and service pretty good but I wouldn’t give her you’re money.

I never got what I was supposed to get with my meal. Nobody there would resolve this issue, and nobody would return my call the next day as promised. This restaurant has no management whatsoever, and they don’t give a darn about the customers once they leave.

The cioppino is NOT to be missed! I agree that the ambiance could use some work but my waitress was friendly, knowledgable and never too far away without being suffocating. Only dropping them down a star because the décor could use an update and there were just a few too many calamari in my dish — but there was a nice balance of seafood, a delicious crab claw and the broth was lightly seasoned and just the right amount of pulp. So glad I stopped in!

After years of driving by, I ate here tonight for the first time. The good service makes up for a lack of ambience. The food was decent, but not worth the price. For some of the entrée prices, you would expect a slightly more upscale setting. This place just needs some refreshing.

Bad service & worse food. There are definately better places to go for steak than this restaurent. My waiter wasn’t hearing my properly and brought the wrong sides, wrongly done steak. Just a bad experience overall.

I can’t believe I’m the first to review this place. The name says it steaks and seafood. We easily go here once a week, but normally eat at the bar. They have wonderful bartenders, & great daily bar specials. Their regular menu is mostly steaks and seafood but in the bar they have an extended munchie like menu. The steaks and seafood are pricey, but they are worth it. If you like Margarita’s one of the bartenders mixes a batch that is always on hand and it’s 2 $ on Saturdays. I’ve been told their bloody marys are great too, and that is their Sunday drink special. They have a few TVs in the bar, and always have sports games on, this is where we go to watch football.
