Love this gem in York!
I stopped here today (2nd visit) because I currently don’t have internet and needed some wi-​fi plus COFFEE!
The decorations and seating is fresh and inviting. The coffee is roasted on site and the selection is delectable. I had a black coffee and there were 5 different options available, decaf, Peanut butter crunch and three other styles that are not flavored. I thought what, Peanut Butter Crunch– no way?! I tried it, and hands down, I am a fan. It is tasty and smooth!
The wi-​fi is strong and free plus the people behind the counters are lovely. My only wish is that they had some gluten free muffins or cookies. The gluten free BoBo’s oat bars are expensive for the little morsel that you get.
Regardless, I will definitely be back and others should join me.

After hearing how great their coffee was, we figured we’d give it a try. However, the first couple times we tried to go, they were closed. We finally caught them when they were open. Very cute little shop, but I was underwhelmed by the coffee. I did have a blueberry muffin that was quite good. My husband did not like his chocolate marble muffin or drink. I wouldn’t make it my regular coffee spot.

Juice and muffin for him raspberry white mocha thingy for me :)
He was was impressed with the music selection, a light jazzy sound. His mother’s child :)

Their mocha is delicious! The woman who helped us was great! I overheard her graciously offering suggestions to customers who weren’t familiar with their seasonal drinks. I also was happy trying their hot apple cider while hanging out on their couch! Happy to find this spot in York as I couldn’t find much in terms of coffee options there.

I used to work for a wholesale coffee company, so while I’m not a coffee snob I do know a thing or two, and had high hopes for this place. Personally I did not like my espresso based beverage and felt that the actual espresso was weak, but I’m not sure if others would notice. However, the service was fantastic and so was the bagel. I plan to stop in again to give them another shot.

Just about the only thing I miss about York. I used to frequent The Green Bean almost every afternoon, viewing it almost as a refuge from all the things I just couldn’t stand about living in York, PA. I’ve been living in Boston for almost a year now and I still haven’t found a coffee shop quite as comfortable and with service and coffee as consistently wonderful as at The Green Bean.

Hands down, this is my fave coffee shop in York! Jen and Vanessa, the owners are super knowledgable about beans/​roasts and they’re friendly to boot! The signature chartreuse green walls give the café a vibrant but comfortable vibe; I love any excuse to meet a colleague or friend there. I can’t have caffeine, and the girls are always accommodating about making sure I have tasty decaf options! Their house blend coffee is the bomb but I highly recommend trying out the rotation of seasonal roasts that hit their shelves. All roasting is done on site, by the girls, in small batches (in a signature chartreuse green coffee roaster!!) so the coffee you’re drinking is guaranteed to be fresh. A local gem, for sure. Don’t miss out – discover the awesomeness for yourself!

This place is solid. Their prices are good and the space is clean and tidy. There are some tables for work and a couch/​lounge area for chatting. The coffee is fine, not great, but not terrible either.
I like local coffee shops a whole lot; I have worked in many. So if I lived in the area I’d probably hit this place up pretty often as it’s got a good vibe. I deduct one star for the coffee not being that great and the annoying hipster music; but then again, I’d only listen to jazz in a coffee shop if I had my way so I’m nitpicking here. I’ll bump it back up to five stars: buy local.

The Green Bean has to be one of my favorite places is York. The owners are incredibly friendly and welcoming and not only are they well versed in the world of coffee, but they are active and informed on the community.
All the roasting is done on site and they have a great selection of frozen and specialty drinks in addition to 5 daily freshly brewed coffees. There is also a selection of baked goods, soups and sandwiches.
The Green Bean is conveniently located near everything in downtown York and I have never had a problem finding parking, and I stop in everyday.
If you are looking for a place to get some work done, meet a friend, or just get your caffeine fix, this is the place!
