Best Japanese hibachi grill I’ve been too. Sushi — amazing. Hibachi — amazing. Drinks — amazing. It may be a little expensive, but you pay for what you get. High quality and large portions. Even got to take my drink glass home.

We went for sushi and we’re really impressed. The volcano roll was one of favorite anywhere… ever. Great experience!

Great Japanese steakhouse! It’s small and a little smoky, but so worth it! Family owned and entertaining chefs. Really good!

Chef Sid was great. Second time going and Sid was much better chef than when we first went. Only negative is, it is always warm or hot in there. It was cooler outside today than in restaurant. Would of liked more soup portion too. Overall good food.

Hit and miss with this place. The first time I went I was very satisfied but the second and third were just okay. Not really sure why such a difference in quality from one day to the other. Either way for the price I think the quality should be more consistent.

Definitely one of the best hibachi restaurants I’ve been to. The chef was entertaining, the portions were just right, and it tasted great. The sauces and soups were very flavorful. Will definitely return!

Very very good! Went based in the Unilocal reviews and it was well worth it. The chefs are eclectic w/their style but are very friendly and courtesy.

Over all I love this place and eat here often. Here are some of my likes and dislikes. Sushi: I’m not a huge fan of their sushi but my boyfriend always orders it. I do like their sushi roll with the bakes scallop on top it’s pretty awesome. Hibachi: The hibachi is terrific! I always have their scallops so I seriously don’t know about anything else. My daughter gets their shrimp and steak and she likes it a lot. Their yum yum sauce is GREAT also. I go for both lunch and dinner and I prefer dinner. It’s a little more money but you get way more. Also the lunch menu doesn’t come with a show. Ya know like the onion volcano thing and what not. The one thing I feel is unnecessary is the fried noodles they give you at the end of the meal. It’s unnecessary and I’m wicked full by then and can careless about them. They’re also salty. Drinks: They have a full bar and I do like their mixed drinks. Service: I feel like they could have a few more servers during dinner. It gets busy and sometimes you can’t find your server. I’ve also had some instances where I was told I can’t order sushi before/with the hibachi because the hibachi doesn’t take very long. Which is not true, it does take a little while(I’m ok with) and I had order both sushi and hibachi before w/no problems. The other issue I have is with one of their hibachi cooks. On several occasions has came off as a little sexist. My coworker and I both ordered scallops. Not only did this jerk give some of my scallops to my co-worker but he also proceeded to skip myself and my other female co-worker for additional left over rice. Commenting to us that men eat more. I did not appreciate this and I was not amused either. On other occasions he bad mouthed the owners and was giving away the recipe for their yum yum sauce. I go back every time with my fingers crossed that he is not our cook because the food is great.

Husband and I went here for my birthday lunch, we were the ONLY ones in the place. But it was nice! We were promptly helped. Drinks, soup and salad. We ordered one roll each, it was very good! As we ate our roll, he started cooking our meal on the grill, we ordered the dinner for two. He was very entertaining, and cooked everything great. It was a little pricey, but everything was wonderful, I would go here again, on a special occasion. Very nice staff as well! Clean bathrooms!

Went here with family for a birthday dinner. Food was great! Good entertainment. Not a cheap meal, but worth it for the atmosphere and experience. It was my first time dining here, but family I was with have been several other times on Christmas Eve with large parties and had nothing but great things to say. Enjoy!!!

Amazing food we had the teppanyaki and sushi and both were well above the quality we expected from a small restaurant of it’s size. We have decided this will be our go to for Japanese food from now on. We will be back! A lot!

Excellent sushi. The rice was simple but flavorful, and the fish had good umami flavor and texture. Best sushi in the area so far. The real star is the Salmon Nigiri. Buttery, silky, and full of flavor. The rice’s simplicity complements well, but is not so simple as to dilute the dish. Good mix of sugar and rice vinegar to piqué the tongue and add a nice background to the salmon. Easily the top 5 for salmon nigiri I’ve ever had in the contiguous U. S… strangely. Edit — 11/15/2013: incorrect rolls removed. 3 to 5

It was very nice to find this place so close to Langley recently. The sushi is delicious and the service is great. And they’re open on Mondays! You can sit at the bar or you can have the hibachi-grilled food if you’d like as well. Very good place to go for lunch or dinner.

I have yet to try their sushi, but I love their hibachi. For the last couple of years I have had my birthday celebration there and its always a good time. Seats plenty of people and everyone gets what they want. I have yet to have a bad experience with this place.

Hubby and I were here for dinner tonight and I knew I would be on Unilocal later writing a review. Hands down the best sushi in Hampton Roads. The freshest nigiri I’ve had outside of San Diego. Their sushi rolls are also the size they should be. They’re not the overly crammed, massive rolls(I’m talking about you Sakura). To top everything, the sushi chef was also sweet enough to notice that my infant son wasn’t eating anything and he made my son his own little tamago on the house. Our search for delicious, fresh sushi ends here at Yukihana. Next time, we are going to try the hibachi with our sushi!

As you approach Yukihana, you can’t help but think it’s going to be a cheap Japanese restaurant because it’s situated in a strip mall and across from a day care center. When you push through the doors and seeing the interior, you wouldn’t think it’s a place for sushi but rather teppanyaki. Though I been there twice, I’ve never counted the number of teppanyaki tables — I think there are 4 or 5 of them, each with about 10 seats. I haven’t gone here for teppanyaki, only sushi, but, the sushi is really as good as it gets in my opinion. So what makes Yukihana good? The freshness of the fish, the cut of the fish, the style of the rolls, the presentation of the sushi, and the service by the chef himself. The fish is fresh. I don’t know how they have fresh fish when I think I’m one of the few who eats sushi there, but it’s was when I visited last Saturday night. I had tuna, salmon, mackerel, eel, ebi, and ikura nigiris and they were all really good. The rice was well mixed, cooled, and flavored just right. The cut of the fish was also excellent — I don’t know why other sushi restaurants fail to cut fish properly, but they do. Yukihana’s sushi chef knows where the grain is, and how to cut it so it feels right in your mouth. The rolls — I also ordered a bunch of rolls. Rainbow, hurricane, spicy tuna, spider. All very well made and presented really well. We ordered enough for them to bring out 2 sushi boats, and everything was laid out beautifully. Also, when you order a certain amount of food at the sushi bar, you automatically gets miso soup and a salad. The miso soup is really good — I think they actually use a fish stock to make the soup instead of just plain water. The service is exceptional. I don’t know if it’s because we are the only ones at the bar, nor if it’s just common practice — but as we waited for our sushi order, just like the time before, we each got a little bowl of crab/cucumber salad that’s really good! I don’t think it’s on the menu, but it’s a very delicious bonus. What’s really surprising was the ebi nigiri I ordered? The head usually disappears into the trash in other Japanese restaurants, but in this one — the chef deep fried it, and presented it to us in a beautiful fashion. I don’t think my date liked it all that much, but boy, it was a delicious treat for me! So how does it stack up to other sushi restaurants? I went up to DC not too long ago, and visited two of the top 10 sushi restaurants according to Unilocal,Kotobuki and Makoto. I didn’t write a review on Kotobuki because my opinion is pretty much the same as everyone else — the place kicks ass, especially the toro. But in comparison to those two sushi restaurants, I would say Yukihana is just slightly below Kotobuki because it’s a bit pricier and the selection isn’t as wide, but it’s certainly better than Makoto(because Makoto doesn’t really do sushi).
