Stopped in for crab legs yesterday and they were disappointing. Didn’t taste like crab and they were very watery, like they reheat them in water and not steam? What was supposed to be butter was questionable. We like this place for drinks and sandwiches, but we won’t be doing crab again.

Tried out this place for the first time last night and we had a wonderful time! Our server Amy was amazing! She was super friendly, efficient and throughout. We brought our little 3 month son along and she was wonderful with him. The food was good and very reasonably priced. We will definitley be back!

Music way too loud!!! The RumChata was much too warm!!! The bartender(some grouchy old blonde hag) shutting down the jukebox mid song was rude. Sorry you didnt like the song choice, but seeing as how the music playing was paid for by a customer, «I had to unplug and reboot bc the mobile app«Touch Tunes) wasn’t working right» Sorry, sister. We HEARD you complaining about the song to other customers, we HEARD you asking other patrons«who played this song» and we HEARD you offer to pay them 5 bux to kill the song. Funny how EVERYOTHERSONG worked just fine from the mobile app. Do everyone a favor and just quit bartending. You suck at it.

I’ve only been in town about a year and a half and this is the second time I’ve been to Mike and Denise’s. This is the first time I’ve been there on a weekend night in the winter. This place was packed, wall to wall packed. 40 minute wait for two for dinner in the restaurant side but we were lucky enough to snag seats at the bar. The drink menu, although it was extremely dirty, had a good selection at a nominal price. I enjoyed a glass of wine and we tried some of the craft beers. We split an appetizer and entrée for dinner. It was a good choice. The baked potato skins were great and there were a lot of that. We split a west coast chicken sandwich and it was amazing. When we let them know we were going to split it they cut it in quarters so it wasn’t so messy. That’s a nice touch. The place was jampacked the entire time we where there. Bartenders running back-and-forth waitstaff trying to get to people. Overall it was a great experience.

I had them cater a birthday party for me. We ordered the Italian Beef, sausage and peppers, baked mostaccioli and garden salad for 50 people. The food was fantastic and the perfect amount. I will be using them for all my events from now on.

Back in 2014 when we first started going to Mike & Denise’s we really liked the place and the food. Lately, though, the food has slipped in quality. We had a bad experience with the fish fry plate on a Saturday for lunch as it tasted like it was leftover from the Friday night fish fry and re-fried. Very disappointed. Thinking it may have been just an off day in the kitchen we tried again. This time we ordered burgers. AWFUL! They had been cooked from a frozen state. How do I know? They were gray, no grill marks and had steamed in the liquid as they defrosted on the grill or flat top so they were tough. That was the last straw. It’s a shame. We love the atmosphere there in the bar area but the food has gone down hill. We will not be back.

Been to the other location but this one seems more«modern» and there are tons of tvs. Dining area on the other side if not into«the sports.» I will stop using«quotes» now.

Overall the TV layout is fantastic, but I come to find it goes downhill from there. The food is not good. If you don’t believe me then try the cheese curds here then the same thing at Tap House. Try the fries and wings here then the same at Legends. The chicken sandwich and it’s very dry, the fish fry and fried pickles come dripping in grease. So the tie breaker here is service. Unfortunately the girl that looks like a teenager that runs the bar has a very poor attitude and here mother is a manager that is not engaged in her job. After the Cubs playoff game, like everybody, we wanted to see Monday Night Football and some for the post game. The mother was too busy chatting with random people to change more than one TV and was very disinterested in doing her job. So I asked the daughter if she could help, she was very snotty and defensive and did not help. Overall the place looks great when you walk in but they really need someone there with a clue about sports that actually pays attention to what people want to watch on the TVs. I’ll go back for a game and beer but definitely not for the food or deal with the immature bartender or the manager that spenders her day there chit chatting. This place could really use some professional management and different food vendors.

Pizza is good — but other than that. .. Meh. I had the turkey rueben sandwich. I expected shaved turkey piled with sauerkraut. What I got was an inch of thickly sliced turkey lunch meat and a teaspoon of sauerkraut. Had to pay extra for the obviously frozen fries which were completely tasteless. Oh yeah — no condiments on the table — not even salt and pepper.

Went back again with friends. I ordered the Italian chopped salad. It was inedible. Way too much dressing and raw white onions which over powered everything. The waitress was awesome! If you go, stuck with the pizza.

After reading reviews and seeing a list of online specials, I so wanted to try this place. I fully expected it to be delicious and affordable. I was wrong on both accounts. My boyfriend and I met up with another couple on a Wednesday night. The special — listed on their website — was fried chicken dinners starting at $ 3.95. When M asked the waitress about the special, she has no idea what he was talking about.(AND the waitress was at our table a total of maybe 3 or 4 times within 2 hours, taking forever to bring our checks.) After speaking with a manger to confirm the special, she took our orders. Normally fried chicken dinners are as follows: ¼ Chicken $ 7.50OR ½ Chicken $ 9.50 $ 1 more for white meat Dinner includes choice of potato, soup or salad and homemade coleslaw. The special was SUPPOSED to be $ 3.95 for ¼ chicken and $ 4.95 for ½ chicken. We ended up getting charged $ 5.95 each for our dinners, and the«special» did not include a soup or salad. and we were required to order mashed potatoes. I could see past this, mainly because I assume the website is not updated, but only if the food was good. I was so underwhelmed by my plate of food. The«homemade» recipe for the chicken batter tasted like leftovers from a fish fry. My chicken was so overcooked that I didn’t even touch it. M spent the entire night pulling bones from his mouth because he kept mistaking them for piece of chicken. That’s how over-fried this stuff was. I also tried my friend’s taco salad bowl and it tasted like pure oil, with no flavor at all. The only reprieve was the double scoop of mashed potatoes that tasted like pure goodness. I’ve heard this place has good pizza. and on Tuesdays they have half price pizza(if you ask for it), but I after the $ 15 we wasted there this week, I doubt I will ever be back.

My kids like this place because it’s convenient, however, I might have just had my last meal here. Why has no one mentioned in all these reviews that this restaurant just plain SMELLSBAD??? I can’t even stand it. It never smells like pizza or fries or, you know, like anything is cooking at all. It smells like bleach and that stuff they use to sop up puke at elementary schools and daycare centers. I walked to the bathroom(through the bar) and had to pass a popcorn machine — still can’t smell anything other than bleach. Perhaps there are grosser smells out there, but I can’t stomach it anymore. One last thing — we’ve never had a waitress who was able to tell us which beers they have on tap. They usually just make me go over and look for myself. So annoying.

Met another couple here for dinner last week. We sat in their outdoor area since there were no mosquitos out and the temperature was nice. In a small way it reminded both couples of dining in Italy’s outdoor restaurants. We started with vino and appetizers of potato skins and Italian quesadilla which were excellent. Dinner was more basic burgers and salad. Everything was great. The wait staff was very attentive and friendly. Although there were other couples sitting nearby they were not«loud Americans» more like Europeans who keep their conversations to their table and don’t intrude on other table’s privacy. That made for a very pleasant evening. Dinner for four — $ 100 plus tip.

Food is awesome, great atmosphere for watching sporting events, just wish it was a little bigger! It is always difficult to get a table and they don’t have a hostess taking names. People just kinda lurk around and swipe tables even though maybe others have been waiting longer. Pizzas are really good, buffalo chicken salad is great, wraps are good as well.

My low star review is due to the fact that I went there as a first time customer and ordered their fried chicken for take-out, and I’d have to say that it was terrible! The fried chicken’s batter was just awful. I mean it was loaded with salt, almost too salty to be edible. The batter was completely dried out and again completely over seasoned with everything. I would not recommend your ordering of the fried chicken if you ever go there. Got home to eat it, to only still be hungry for the night because I drove it all the way back home with me to Naperville from Yorkville. Too far to just take it back. The fried chicken is the only item that I ate from this location, and so this all that I’m able to comment about.

I’ve had great food at the Aurora location, and since we live in Yorkville, we decided to see if they could replicate what they have on Farnsworth. Well, ok. Sort of. The service is BETTER: quicker &MUCH friendlier. Curds(hell yes) are the same yumminess. We ordered a speciality pizza, the Margharita– we probably should have just done a regular pie to give this place a go ’round, but oh well. Next time. That said, don’t waste time with the Margharita… the cheese was VERY sparse… white blobs patched around the crust(I posted a picture) and little flavor. Ugh. We’ll give it another shot, for sure. Hopefully, it’s better.
