Pros– helpful, friendly, cheerful staff, knowledgable about the park and climbing. High quality gear in the most convenient spots in the park, with a reasonable selection of choices(ie three brands of cams) — especially given the space comstraints. For a retail establishment selling outdoor gear, it’s fantastic that they’re open at 8 am. Dan in particular was helpful in setting me up with the right gear while pointing out ways I could get the most fir my money. Cons– full suggested retail pricing.

Would love to have reviewed the actual shop, but the business hours are not excactly convenient to the active hiker/climber. My friends & I hiked into the Valley via the Yosemite Falls trail from Hwy 120(due to the Rim Fire road closure). We arrived at Curry Village at 5:30pm hoping to get a couple of pieces of gear(broken in transit) before we left for the John Muir Trail at 6:00am the following morning. The shop closes at 5:00pm!!! The post office, book store, & Ansel Adams gallery, were all open. Ironic that a store that caters to the active outdoor enthusuiast… most likely to be hiking/climbing most of the day… is closed early.

This place is normally the go to shop for friendly knowledgeable staff, and has all gear you need or left at home. But my interaction with a staff member«Bernardo» was anything but unpleasant. he was belittling and down right mean, and all I did was ask a question about a certain backpack and it’s features. Will I go back? Well, it’s the only shop in the valley, so I will probably have to at some point, but I will walk right back out and do without what I need if that same staff member is there!

Great little technical gear shop located in Curry Village. They seem to have just about anything to help repair some broken gear or minor forgotten item. Do not expect to go in here and outfit yourself for the week but you can certainly get what you need. Friendly staff and great location.

Covered in bug bites, bruised from hiking for two days with my camera equipment and lap top, I found this little gem in Yosemite. They were stocked with effective bug spray(the general stores were out) and plenty of hiking back packs to choose from. They had a North Face back pack that saved my trip. The pricing was suggested retail but they had a great variety to choose from. They also had a ton of marmot and other outdoor brand apparel and accessories. It looked like they also had a good selection of rock climbing stuff but I don’t know much about it to really say what was there. The staff never once asked me if I needed help and was a little rude at check out, but I was stoked to have a new pack so that I could continue my photography expeditions and do so without acquiring more bug bites.
