Wasn’t satisfied

Dirty and unprofessional.

I bought a Groupon for a cut & deep conditioning with Jessica. I had an appointment which the girl had to call to reschedule for the next morning at 10. I ended up waiting outside the salon until 10:30 when she finally showed up & didn’t even apologize for being so late. I probably would have left if I hadn’t already bought the Groupon. She was very rude. She also gave me layers without even asking! The only good thing was that she used a really nice deep conditioner on my hair. But, I definitely had expected to have a better experience in Yountville than this!

Recently I got a groupon for a cut and color. The girl who did my hair was a sweet girl but unfortunately completely ruined my hair by turning it into a bright splotchy orange at my roots and dark brown everywhere else when I was going for a more light ish brown all over (and when I say bright orange I mean BRIGHT ORANGE). They say that they are «color specialist» but my poor orange tiger striped hair begs to differ. Im pretty sure the problem was that she left the dye in too long and applied it unevenly but she just kept insisting that it was because my head was too hot at the top (?). I have no idea how I’m going to fix this because along with horrifically dying my hair, she also managed to turn the texture into coarse straw (I’ve never had this happen to this extent before and I haven’t dyed /​permed my hair in over 2 years) so re-​dying doesn’t seem like an option unless Id be willing to risk having all my hair just fall out. In conclusion, I hated my experience and I’m having a hard time looking in the mirror… id say I’m above «incredibly upset» and just below «complete meltdown» –_​_​_​-​. Obviously I am never ever ever going back…
on the upside (sort of) she did do an ok job waxing my eyebrows except i noticed after i left the salon that it was lopsided…(T-T what a day… a girl can only take so much)

My experience is that I found the shop very messy and crowded. I wondered at the cleanliness of other items in the shop. My hair was cut dry… never have I had a dry haircut. The gentleman next to me received his haircut dry also. I was disappointed at this… why? Do they not want to waste the shampoo or have the problem of washing/​drying towels? Is this a new technique of which I do not know? My cut was unsatisfactory but my haircolor was very nice; the hairstylist was cordial but kept checking her work with the other hairdresser to be sure.
Paying top price for inferior work is not my idea of a quality salon. I will not be back.

Nadine has a one of a kind touch and its easy to feel comfortable in her hands, not to mention she is hilarious and will not make your hair service feel like a chore. She is young but don’t let her youthful looks fool you, she knows her stuff! She listens to what you want and does a full consultation before she touches you, with shears of course, she puts her hands in your hair and really gets to know the texture and feel of it. I have extremely thick hair and its’ easy to get lost, but Nadine really talked to me about recommendations and everyday wear for my current style. She’s even available to do a quick blow out (shampoo and style) for those who are looking for a little help before a nice dinner or a party, how fantastic!

Marietta Englebrecht does hair at Soluna. She is the best. People consistently compliment me on both the cut and the color of my hair. She is a very experienced hairdresser who has worked in the film industry. She really knows how to make the most of what you have.

Love SoLuna Salon!!! Aurelia is the best. She is an amazing hairstylist and the best for wedding updos and makeup. I have wavy curly hair and I travel all the way to Yountville to have her cut and style my hair. She always has beautiful costume jewelry, dresses and accesories available should you decide to spend the night in Napa and need a pretty ensemble for dinner or vineyard wedding. She also carries Morrocan Oil, which I LOVE!!!
