I’m giving this store only 3 stars because of the way we were treated the last time we were in. The first time we were really impressed and as a matter of fact, bought a few items. We went in again but this time we were totally ignored while the person running the store had a conversation with someone else. Not even a greeting or — «if there’s any questions you have just let me know» — NOTHING. If that was the owner, she needs to improve — BIGTIME. If not the owner, then you need to either have a talk with this person or fire them. That experience turned me off the shop.

Beautiful shop. So much local, handmade goodness. Shop owner is kind and helpful. She found me the perfect gift for my sister-in-law! Love this place!

A fun little gift shop for paper products and knick knacks with fun sayings and clever phrases(my description, my lady thinks its the beez knees). A great store, creative, and a welcome addition to Ann Arbor’s downtown scene of shops and restaurants. I like seeing custom items that fit the Michigan life or even more specifically ‘UofM’ life.

I thought this shop was wonderful, with a great variety of unique artisan items. Jeanette, the owner was friendly and took time to answer all of my questions and was just fun to chat with. We need more businesses like this in Ypsilanti.

The Eyrie has the most festive, thoughtful, and affordable selections. The shop is a treasure for the community and for Michigan!

Just like every other Unilocalers have stated, this is a cute gift shop filled with hand made items, like coasters, paintings, pins, magnets, cards, plates, baby clothing, scarfs, jewelry and much more. I was über excited to visit because I love how a lot of Michiganders have so much pride in their state and produce a lot of products locally. I personally didn’t find anything and was expecting to be slightly different and maybe not as expensive. I was hoping to find something for my out of town wedding guest, so they could take a little piece of Michigan with them, but couldn’t find anything. This store would be great for people looking to add personal touches to the house… not a bulk type of gift place though…

Awesome little shop with handmade items from local artists. My friends from Indiana make fun of my enthusiasm for Michigan so I found some great Michigan themed gifts here. :) I will be going back for more gifts or just to browse!

A beautiful gift shop/art gallery located in the Depot Town district of Ypsilanti. I stopped in on a whim after having to work off a big lunch at the sidtrack, a shop down. The Eyrie offers gifts, jewelry and art work created by Michigan artists. The woman who owns it is a delight to talk to and is more than willing to share information about the products and artists. I ended up buying a beautiful ring made by an Ypsi artist and two greeting cards made by a very talented Ann arbor artist. They are so nice I almost don’t want to send them. :) This beautiful gallery/store is worth a trip to Depot Town!

This place is super cool. The hubby and I swung by the Humane Society to drop off some treats and toys for the pooches and figured since we were«in the area» we could swing by Aubrees for their happy hour. We were a few minutes early and thought we would check out Sidetracks before going into Aubree’s… we noticed a sign that said«local homemade gifts» so we just had to check it out! And I am so glad we did. As other Unilocalers mentioned, 95% of the goodies in the store are local. I like that they have the artist’s name and location(a lot of them are Canton and Plymouth)! There are so many cool things: upcycled spoons, buttons, the most adorable hand knitted hats(they had very cute ones that look the top of veggies… I kind of wish they had them in my size!), cards, lotions, candles, and very unusual and cool things that I would not have expected! This adorable shop does offer something for everyone… and the profits stay local; unlike the huge margins they take on the online shops like etsy. Drop in! Check it out! Support local!

Stores like The Eyrie are sometimes called«gift shops” – and if you are looking for a special gift for someone, The Eyrie certainly fits the description. But I guarantee that when you visit this beautiful little store, tucked into the far west corner of Depot Town(you have to look for it), you’re going to want to buy a few things for yourself too. I visited the Eyrie for the first time on Saturday, when a friend who’d already found it insisted we drop in. And now I’m hooked. Jeanette, the owner, has stocked her store with gorgeous items, most made by Michigan artists. There are the items you’d expect to find in a store like this – candles, scented room sprays, handmade greeting cards – but there’s much more, and a lot of it is unexpected. How about a fabulous shoulder bag made from felted silk? Or «boxes» made of wool in the shape of vegetables?(I bought the eggplant.) Handmade pottery pieces, really unusual handmade jewelry, baby blankets, hand-printed cotton towels, handmade birdbaths. There’s a wide price range so there’s something lovely for everyone. The yard on the west side of the building has been transformed into a shady garden – a very pleasant place to get off your feet for a few minutes and cool off. You don’t have to buy anything to enjoy it either. So if you’re at the farmers’ market on a Saturday, walk out to Cross Street, turn right, and The Eyrie and its garden will be right there, at the end of that little row of redbrick stores. You can see photos of the garden, and the store, on The Eyrie’s Facebook page. But why gaze from afar when you can get there so easily and see for yourself? The Eyrie joins Mix, Bowerbird Mongo, and Rejoice as wonderful shopping experiences in Ypsi. Look for it!
