Brand-N Iron Family Steak House

Found this place on Unilocal while traveling south on I-​5. Needed a good dinner and they delivered. Flavorful steak, baked potato with all the fixings, came with salad bar and a fabulous chicken gumbo soup. That had great country western music playing and a cool atmosphere. We will go back and recommend to anyone passing through Yreka.

This restaurant has a great deal where you get soup, salad, steak, fried shrimp, corn, and ice cream for $ 18! The steak was cooked exactly the way I asked, medium rare.

Great barbecue chicken, friendly staff. The musicians tonight were professional with a wide range of voice and style.

Cool local steak house right off of the 5 freeway. A must stop for travelers heading to or from Oregon. This place also has an extensive homemade Italian menu. The steaks are tender and seasoned well.

A very sweet, unique, friendly, western steakhouse. My husband and I started with Manhattan’s at the bar and then moved to the dining room. The New York steak was juicy, flavorful and cooked just the way we ordered it. It was served with a nice baked potato and side of sweet corn (not on the cob). Meals come with one visit to the small salad bar, a cup of soup (in my case clam chowder) and a scoop of ice cream. They had Lagunitas IPA and Fat Tire on tap. A great value with unpretentious small town charm and western décor — we’ll be back!

I am putting one star because the decorations were pretty cool their food was horrible they don’t even have hamburgers the menu sucks they have white out all over menus to change prices they are super expensive for a little food their salad bowls are small soup bowls

We love Penny and her place. Great food; warm hospitality. But she outdid herself. She put on the best New Years party we’ve ever been to. Fantastic food, beautifully decorated room at the Best Western convention center and terrific entertainment. She and her staff are Yreka’s treasures! What a great way to ring in the New Year!

The Brand-​n-​Iron SteakHouse has NEVER been closed been going since 1985! newly remodeled. the «Closed sign in the door meant they were closed for that day… go figure. we all need a day off.
Motto is «you wont go away Hungry» and that’s a fact… Best Prime Rib Around.

NOT CLOSED as the picture might indicate. This is a quaint small town steakhouse complete with western decorations and pictures and music. The boss as she calls herself is very pleasant and helpful. Service was very good. The prices are reasonable and the portions generous. After a trip to the soup and salad bar it’s a stretch literally to put anymore in your stomach. The pork ribs were delicious and tender. The New York was perfectly cooked.

My husband and I ate here tonight. We had the best meal. Yum. I had a New York steak and my husband had ribs. We both thought they were cooked to perfection and the taste was great. The waitress (maybe the owner) was excellent, smart, observant and so sweet. This is an old school steakhouse that’s what makes it unique and warm. The place had decorations in a western theme and done in an an interesting way. I could have spent an hour looking at the varied pictures and items on the walls. The place is spotless. So the reviewer that thinks this place needs updating might try Denny’s or McDonald’s for an updated look. When I’m in yreka, I’ll be enjoying this place. If I were looking for a negative, I might suggest paint and tile in the woman’s restroom. Kate

Hidden gem of Yreka! The owner greeted and treated us like family. I live in the Bay Area and would chose this restaurant over many overpriced steakhouses. Don’t miss out when in town.

The best ribs ever!!! Try the pesto linguine too!!! And you simply can’t beat the atmosphere!!! Love this place. I go everytime I’m in Yreka! Can’t beat the home cooking feel to it!

Service is friendly. Beer is cold. Food is not expensive, and shouldn’t be. I don’t think the steaks are grilled, bit always served just like I request. Ravioli is good. Salad bar is disappointing. Facility is old and dark. I usually eat in the bar and have the room to myself. I wish more people ate here so they could improve. I worry that because they’re mediocre and the place is usually empty that they won’t stick around much longer.

It is as good as it gets in Yreka I think. Lots of food, I would totally come back. Needs to be remodeled though, the athmosphere is old looking
