I feel like I’ve gotten really good at finding things that are normal for me in small towns. My family members have been living in this area for about 10 years, and no one knew about this place! My grandpa told me he had been going to Roseville or Sacramento to find the Filipino groceries he needed! Can’t wait to tell him that he can save his gas and drive down the street instead!(he probably shouldn’t be driving to much anyway– lol jk!) The owner Irene was really hospitable, took time out to speak with me and the bf and even welcomed us with some coconut juice!

I love going into Irene’s store! She is always welcoming and so loving! My kids love seeing her and my grandma appreciates all of the products! Whenever we have a party and need stuff for Filipino food or we just want to have some unique ingredients you can’t get anywhere else, Irene’s is the place to go!

Love this place, it has all my filipino needs! Get your fill of longanisa, tocino, they even have siopao. Good brands. The only thing I wish they carried is mother’s best kare kare mix. They have another brand that I can use but it causes me to add more peanut butter to even out the flavor. The owner is very nice and personable. She’s given us free food twice! Their hours are very friendly as well, usually family owned places close early but this one stays open till a reasonable time. I will definitely keep going here.

Who knew I could find specialized Asian ingredients in one neat, reasonably priced and friendly store in Yuba City? No need to burn gas going to Sacramento any more! I went looking for sweet rice flour to bake with and got a recommendation for a better brand than I was using. Plus, she gave us ice cold drinks on the house since we were first-time customers! Guess what? We’re going back! I am thrilled with this gem of a store where you can find all manner of Asian goodies from crackers to cassava to Mochiko powder to Milo drink mix. Yuba City is on the map with Irene!

I love this FILIPINOSHOPPINGMARKET. I just hope its bigger or re-locate within Yuba City for a bigger building. Irene(The Cashier & Owner) is very friendly and sweet… She treats you like family and is very attentive if I have question or would like to try something before buying, I insist, but there are times where Im like«WTHECK! Sure why not. Is it free.!?» And Tita Irene says its on the house… Now she rocks! No where else I would get free food/drinks/desserts samples from Irene Sarabia store… Theyre hella yummy, and not alot of selection are expensive… They are all affordable. I love munching on all the filipino chips sold there, brings me back to home in the Philippines. =}

This place isn’t a big asian supermarket, but it serves my needs for Filipino food/ingredients, instead of having to travel to Sacramento or the Bay Area for rice, calamansi juice, lumpia, the Lucky Me noodles etc. The store was clean and orderly, and there were a few people sitting by the couch talking Tagalog… made me feel more at home, haha. The prices are good as well =)

My Sister and I stopped by after finding out about this by accident. My boyfriend is Filipino and we usually travel to Roseville to shop. I was quite exited about finding this store for him and the owner was a sweetheart. She was very friendly and even took my nephew to the shelves and found a treat for him that she had liked. She refused to let us pay for it saying it was a gift for him as a first time customer. My boyfriend has since been back numerous times and is very impressed with their selection.

I live in a small town near Yuba City. I was in search of a Filipino market nearby, without having to travel to Sacramento, Roseville, or wait until I get back home, in Stockton. Thank you, Unilocal!!! As soon as I walked in, I was greeted a «hello» by the lady at the register, even though she was helping a couple check out.(Who I later conversed with, and is the owner, Irene). I quickly found the lumpia wrapper I was looking for, and picked up some tocino.(YAY!) I browsed the shelves to see what other familiar goodies I needed. There was patis, soy sauce, a good selection of the instant noodles(lucky me), chicharon, rice noodles, just delivered pan de sal, siopao, and pan de leche, etc. The selection was lovely in comparison to the Asian market near my apt. As I was waiting to check out, Irene was helping, who I assumed, was a regular customer because they were chatting as she rang him up. As she rang me up, we conversed and I told her it was my first time there and that I was glad I found her store. She was very friendly and we talked a little bit more. Two women came in, and she greeted them and said that if they needed help, feel free to ask. They asked about a specific item, but she did not carry it, but she suggested another market that might carry it. I would definitely come back, even though it’s a bit of a drive from my apt. ;o)

Nice place! They have good selection of Asian, oriental and Filipino goods. A real time saver verses driving to an Asian market in Sacramento. Irene provides free shipping box for international freight service.
