I’ve been going to Shelby for 3 years and have always had a great experience! Always love my cut and partial highlights. I even accidently fried my bangs with my crappy hair dryer and she was able to fix it and I loved it. She does a fantastic job and I would highly recommend her!

I loved my hair color but when it came to the hair cut they left one side longer then the other. My husband was surprised how much of a difference one side was but he did love the color.

I have gotten my hair done by Shelby every time ! I have extremely stubborn hairs when it comes to coloring but she always manages to get my hair where I want it. She’s patient and creative !

This salon is absolutely wonderful! I’ve had many stylist do my hair and all have been a little awkward and uncomfortable. I walked in and the salon itself is absolutely beautiful! It’s also very homey and the atmosphere is more than welcoming. My stylist Mariah, was so sweet and did my hair exactly how I asked. She made me feel comfortable and is a great girl! She did amazing work and I’ll definitely be going back!

Just recently moved out to 29 palms, and having the same stylist for years I was quite nervous choosing a new stylist. I came across Mariah through a Facebook post, and scheduled an appointment. Not only did I admire her energy, she was very welcoming to me being a new client. Even got to know me for me and told me about her self as well. I gave her an idea of how I wanted my hair to look, I got an ombré done. And she did an absolute wonderful job. The colors blended so well and are beautiful. And my biggest fear is getting an actual hair cut and she nailed that too !. My hair feels healthy and alive. I’d recommend her to anyone. :). Had a very wonderful experience and will be returning for further appointments.

This was my first time getting my hair done in this salon and omg let me tell you Jennifer did an amazing job! I have dark brown hair almost black and she was able to lighten up my hair the first time without causing breakage or damage. I was so happy with the end results I almost cried lol. I highly recommend this place. Not only is the staff extremely talented but super friendly. Thanks again Jenn!

Shelby is excellent. I moved to the area from London (UK) and have found the best hair salon and stylist I’ve ever been to, and I had to travel to the middle of the desert to find it! I trusted Shelby to cut my hair in to a pixie style after 4 years of growing my hair long and it’s the first time I ever left the hairdresser completely happy with the result. There’s no messing around, Shelby is fast but extremely mindful of what one has asked for, and all at the right price too.

Shelby T. has been doing my hair for about 5 years now. She listens to what you want, she doesn’t get all scissor happy on your hair and she gets my blonde color looking so nice and natural. I get so many compliments on my hair color. This is the only place I will go, its a really cute and stylish salon with a great and friendly atmosphere. I recently moved back to palm desert and I will continue traveling up to yucca valley for Shelby to do my hair! Her prices are extremely fair for her services as well.

If your looking for a new hairstylist/​salon. Shelby Thompson is your girl and Kole Michael is the place. And why is that you may ask well I’ll tell you. If you had seen my hair before I started seeing Shelby you would have been shocked. It was terrible. Shelby nursed my hair back to health by coloring and cutting it. Now my hair is beautiful and soft and long. She is so amazing she’s a stylist you can give such little detail to and she just creates magic. She will be honest if a color should be darker, lighter, etc or how to cut your hair to frame your face beautifully. She is so sweet kind and funny and if I wasn’t moving I would keep seeing her. Going into Kole Michael salon was always such an amazing experience that I didn’t mind driving from 29 palms. So yah if your looking to change your hair game and feel confident and beautiful about your hie see Shelby Thompson at Kole Michael salon!

I was in desperate need of a hair cut. My hair hadn’t been cut in two years and lets just say it was an ugly mess. I did some research on Unilocal and after seeing Shelbey’s work/​photos, I decided to give her a try. I am sooooooo happy that I did! Shelbey did an amazing job!
If you live or are visiting the high desert and in need of a cut, give her a try, you wont be disappointed!

I’m a woman of color relatively new to Yucca Valley. I wanted to find a local stylist who was familiar with curly/​wavy hair. Not every stylist knows to cut curly hair well — it can be tricky.
Kim did an outstanding job! She asked all the right questions and she listened. She cut my hair so the curls would fall perfectly. I loved that she was conservative in cutting JUST enough hair to create the shape I wanted. She used top of the line products specifically for my hair type that worked brilliantly, resulting in great curl definition and volume.
She made me feel completely comfortable during our initial consultation and during my appointment. It’s a beautiful, clean salon with very warm and friendly staff. I highly recommend the Kole Michael Salon.

No complaints at all. Haircut was quick and wonderful. This is coming from someone who’s very picky. I’ve always gotten my hair layered by Shelby and it has always been great. I haven’t used any other services like coloring or mani/​pedi so I can’t comment on the other services but the haircut is beautiful. They also have wigs you can purchase. Make an appointment.
If there was anything that can be improved, I’d say the signage for the shop can be alittle more attractive. I missed the shop everytime I go there. The décor is also nice but can be alittle cleaner.

Elizabeth did an amazing job with my cut. I’m trying to out grow my pixie cut and was at an awkward stage so I was in need of someone to fix the problem. Love the fact Elizabeth gave her honest opinion on what I should do with my hair and I’m extremely happy with the result. I will be returning again!

Having moved from San Diego to Yucca Valley I knew I would need to find someone to cut my hair. First off: I hate having my haircut. I dread the process. Once I find the right person I will stick with them for as long as possible.
So not wanting to drive 2.5 hours to San Diego to have my hair cut from the person I used in San Diego, I decided to utilize Unilocal to find the right person in Yucca Valley. Kole Michael had some pretty good reviews so I called and spoke with Shelby. She was able to book me in for the next day.
The salon is really clean and everyone seemed really nice that works there. Shelby greeted me with a big smile. I felt like I had made a good choice.
I have been back a second time and was just as pleased with my haircut. Shelby will be cutting my hair from here on out.

I love Shelby at Kole Michael Salon! She always provides great advice and truly listens to what the client wants. The salon itself is very clean, chic and modern (you won’t believe you’re still in Yucca, Valley). The prices are very competitive as well, for my 2 – 3 colors, cut and style it comes to $ 75 for my long hair.
I am always, always receiving compliments on my color and refer Shelby on a weekly basis and my commute from 29 Palms to Yucca Valley just to get my hair done does not phase me whatsoever because I know I will be leaving happy and beautiful!
