Modern Nails

First of all, I called for an appointment for my daughter in law and I for pedis and full sets and got an appt for later that day. When we arrived there were 4 people in the pedi chairs and 3 waiting for pedis plus a manicure in session. There were only two people working as two had called out. I told Tina that we were not in a hurry and would wait. The man working there started on my nails 20 minutes later. I asked him his name and he said it was Amigo (later found out it is David.) Amigo did a horrible job on my nails and cut my thumb with the nail file so badly that my skin is still peeling off days later. Also, the nails are as thick as pennies and very heavy. He acted like he didnt know what I was asking for. Then he started on my daughter in laws nails. They look like spoons, literally, SPOONS! She could eat with them. So, then we start with the pedicures, he did such a bad job that Tina (the only one who knew what she was doing) had to fix the botched job he did. Tina was awesome. I felt so bad for her because she was trying to do everything by herself. I will never let Amigo David touch my hands or feet again. He has a terrible attitude and shouldnt be doing nails at all. If I go back, I will only let Tina work on me. I dont usually leave bad reviews but I had to in this case. My thumb is still sore where he cut it. Shame on you David.

Came here yesterday and got a full set. The lady was very pleasant and now my sister is getting her nails done as I type this. I love their work. The workers are all nice. I put 4 stars because my only complaint is that she didn’t paint the very side of some of my nails but they look great other than that. I’ll definitely be coming back from now on :)

I usually go to 29 palms to get my nails done but it was raining and it’s so much closer to where I live so I came here. I got a fill and gel nail polish for 22 bucks, which isn’t bad at all, I was pleasantly surprised. The dude did a fantastic job on the nail polish but for some reason he couldn’t do the short stiletto nails I usually get. Not sure why he couldn’t just cut them down but the shape is alright and they haven’t been bothering me, even though they’re much longer than what I’m used to. I would probably go back but I’ll check out other places too. Would have given it five stars if he did the nail shape I requested but the polish job was pretty great.

Went in to get a wax — the woman who helped me worked very fast and I was out in 2 minutes! I will definitely visit again and maybe get a manicure.

Bad, bad, bad!
I went here to get a full set and a pedicure. They were open early and based in the reviews here, I thought I’d take a chance.
First, I did not get what I asked for… And when I tried to assert myself the man just disregarded my requests and did what he wanted. Unfortunately I was too far in to have him stop.
Then the nails lifted so horribly in four days that I had to go to sassy nails and get them fixed!

I have tried all the nail salons in town and been disappointed most of the time by sloppy work or far too expensive upgrades that you’re pushed into if you want a decent job done. This one is as good as it gets in Yucca, but make sure you get Tina! She gives a very nice pedicure and her nail art for your big toe is the best I’ve ever seen, truly talented. It’s best if you can get in when they’re not busy, sometimes when she gets distracted it doesn’t come out as well. But on a good day she’s simply the best. Sometimes you have to ask her to cut your nails down or whatever you want, but she happily complies. It’s also slightly cheaper than most of the competition at $ 18 for a pedicure, $ 23 with design. They also have a special UV gel which strengthens your fingernails and makes them very shiny and pretty without actually applying fake acrylics for only $ 12. They will always take walk ins and show interest in their customers with a very friendly family run atmosphere.

Tina gave me the best mani/​pedi i have ever had! I was only in Joshua Tree for two weeks, but made sure i went back to Tina right before driving back home to Venice. She took her time, but worked fast, and with a level of care & attentiveness that was outstanding. She suggested the exact color i was looking for but hadn’t seen. Truly great!
