Wonderful food and amazing customer service. They gave our kids little presents. The happy hour food, drinks and prices were incredible. As a local, I will definitely be coming back. Also, it was warm inside. A huge plus when it’s 20 degrees outside.

Very tasty dinner. Our group of 6 shared several appetizers. The ginger encrusted ahi was fabulous; the pear salad was excellent. My partner and I shared a special of the evening created by Chef David, wild caught king salmon in a pastry with a very tasty seafood sauce. Wonderful experience!

Only thing this place is lacking is more people. Food is always on point, service is impeccable and our 3 year old is always treated like royalty. It’s an amazing neighborhood spot for those of us in Zephyr Cove. I think they just need that special«hook» to make it a destination spot. But for now we’re happy to have it to ourselves. Our kiddo loves the mac and cheese. We’ve been digging on the smoked tri tip sliders. The grilled Caesar salad is kinda amazing.

I stopped by desperate for caffeine. My boyfriend found this place on Google. It’s nice looking, and it seems like it would be an excellent place for wine and other drinks but DEFINITELYNOTFORCOFFEE. Their options were very limited. I got a latte with a shot of caramel flavor, which i usually don’t, since i prefer black coffee. The drink was small and over priced for what it was. The coffee tasted burnt, and it had a really bad after taste. If I’m in the area again, i would stop by for a drink, but definitely not for coffee.

A really outstanding little neighborhood bar and restaurant. Reasonably priced, great local hangout with very friendly staff. Would give it 5 stars in a heartbeat but a little difficult to get in and out of as it is on highway 50′. Food is great and drinks are even better! Closed on Sunday’s through the winter, though… one of my favorite spots!

We are visiting from out of town, staying in the condos across the street. Too easy to scoot over for a quick dinner. It was not full on a Saturday night, which was unsettling — but to our advantage, no wait for a table. The ambiance is mixed — lovely big stone fireplace and rich red walls, but country style tables, an awkward counter and tight layout. We ordered an assortment of appetizers. The Brie puffs were fabulous — I’d eat them for breakfast if I could, and marvelous with the spicy house merlot. The bacon mac and cheese was decadent comfort food. The crab cakes were tasty and their wings were good(although what we got didn’t match the sample sauce we tried). I also got the portobello mushroom plate, with very nice grilled asparagus and broccolini. My friend’s salad came with a different dressing than she’d asked for, but fresh greens and nice flavor. Beautiful presentation on everything. Courteous and attentive waiter. The wine portions were a little skimpy, but I thought good quality. The restaurant was clean and tidy. If I’m back here, I will be back, and I’d recommend it as a place with very good, unique food and good service.

I had been craving some Halibut lately so my husband suggested that we stop and eat at this restaurant that he had seen from the highway. Since we stopped for lunch I opted for the strawberry spinach salad which I enjoyed but was still starving afterwards, husband got some sort of sliders because he wasn’t really hungry and our 5 year old son chose chicken strips and fries from the children’s menu. My poor child got food poisoning and spend the rest of the afternoon, evening and night puking his little guts out. That is the last thing any parent wants to have to watch. We will not be revisiting this restaurant.

This is my favorite spot– I think it’s the best restaurant in Tahoe. These two ladies, Oaska and Ekumbe(excuse the sp??) are so gracious and great hosts– They always greet you so warmly. I recently met Tim, the chef– He’s a very talented guy I’m learning. I can’t say enough good things about the food. Everyone is very friendly, the food is spectacular and I love this place. If you haven’t eaten here yet, you’re missing out on one of the best secrets in town !!

We went for their happy hour today. ½ off appetizers, plus wine & beer specials. We ordered the teriyaki wings($ 4), tri-tip sliders — 3 of them($ 5), and clam chowder($ 5). I had a pint of Moose Drool(Brown Ale)($ 5), and the wife had a glass of red blend($ 5). The wings were smoked and tasted great. The Tri-Tip was sliced very thin and just melted in your mouth with great flavor. The chowder was very good, lots of clams(Not a fan of the potatoes chunks… but I’m nitpicking here) Would definitely go back.

We wanted so badly to like Toast. The restaurant/bar is within walking distance from my friend’s cabin in Marla Bay and it would have been great to have an easy place to walk to for dinner and drinks after a day on the water. That being said, I don’t know that we’ll ever go back. The bar/restaurant looked clean and the bartender and server(the only two employees working) were both very nice. We enjoyed our drinks, but the bar was out if the cucumber vodka used in two of the drinks our party was interested in. No biggie, but that was the first bummer. Next, one of the guests in our party was interested in ordering a curry dish on the menu, but was curious of what the curry consisted of and the server politely said she’d ask the chef. Apparently the new chef does not like making the curry, wants to discontinue it from the menu, and the Jasmine rice would’ve taken 20+ minutes to prepare, and he asked that we select something else. Ok, sure. With that information, our party member ordered the duck breast instead. However, our meal(2 pastas and 1 duck breast) took well over 30 minutes to arrive anyway. I had bad vibes and decided to stick with the most basic dish on the menu — pasta Pomodoro. It consisted of linguine, tons of minced garlic, diced tomatoes and the«seasonal vegetable» included consisted of a few slices of red bell pepper. That’s it. No basil(the menu listed basil as an ingredient). Luckily, it was too basic to mess up too badly, but I could’ve made a much better pasta at the cabin for less money. Oh well. The duck breast was under-cooked and the«port cherry sauce» looked like craisins in syrup, the«roasted red potatoes» were actually garlic mashed potatoes(again, didn’t match the menu), but the potatoes and baby asparagus at least both tasted good. The«creamy» pesto pasta with shrimp was very interesting(photo included). The person in our group who ordered it was too grossed out to finish it. The pesto sauce consisted of 95% olive oil. Nothing about it was«creamy» and the entire dish was drowned by olive oil. Yes, pesto has a decent amount of olive oil, but it shouldn’t be 1″ deep and dripping. The shrimp was cooked well and tasted good. Our second round of drinks(ordered when our dinner order was taken) were forgotten and arrived about 2⁄3 through our meals. Not cool. There were only 3 tables seated on a Saturday night, so the drink and food prep service should have been easily managed by the employees. Considering the slow(although friendly) service and lack-luster meals, we decided we’ll just walk to Sam’s Place for nearby meals next time. Perhaps the happy hour at Toast is alright, but we likely won’t find out.
