Feeling homesick for Edinburgh, only fish and chips could cheer me up. I headed to Hilton’s purely because I was driving in snow(for the first time ever!) and this was the closest place to my accommodation. With positive reviews, I was excited about what I was getting into. Service was efficient and they cooked both the fish and chips fresh, though I note every other dish appears to be pre-cooked and sitting in the warmer ready to serve. After about a 10 minute wait my meal had arrived! And it was delicious. Everything I needed to get me through my next day in Aberdeen before I can return home and drown myself in good coffee. The portion size was huge, though the chips portion appeared quite small this was more than enough. The portion of fish was massive and this is the part where I give one less star– the batter was too doughy for me so rather than a light and crispy batter this was quite thick and soggy. I’s still recommend this place and give it the benefit of the doubt, it’s A-OK but they haven’t made a fan out of me… yet.

This is my favourite chip shop in Aberdeen. The chips are excellent and prices are competitive. There is plenty of parking outside. I would highly recommend buying your lunchs from here, they have specials with are such great value. For £2.50 you get the following Mon: Sausage, beans, chips + can(or other drink) Tues: Chilli, cheese, chips + can Wed: Macaroni cheese, chips + can Thurs: Mince, skirlie and tatties or chips + can Fri: Chilli, cheese and chips + can. Such a bargain and they all taste great too, definitely worth stopping off here. The staff are lovely, even though they are rushed off their feet at times the service is fast and friendly
