Piccolo Restaurant

It’s hard to make a review for me this time, as I’ve been there many times and I’ve always liked the food. The last time I am not sure what has changed, but the whole experience was pretty bad.
Me and my friend were always going there for RISOTTO IMPERIAL (around £17) and ZUPPA DI MARE (around £7) with king prawns, mussels, calamari, tomato and fresh herbs (which had to be probably a signature dish for them), but the soup was gone from the menu
It would be still ok, if even the risotto looked not just smaller and less seafood in it, but it was suppose to have a chicken, which wasn’t there. My friend would tell the waitress, if she was available (she was running around other tables looking quite busy). We asked for the bill when we had the chance finally, my friend asked about the chicken and if she can see the menu. She was told that chef said it’s not suppose to be there, menu showed otherwise… Got a discount but what the. ?
My lasagne was a bit tasteless also.
I hope it was just their bad day as we used to like that place and were regulars.
ATMOSPHERE — it’s tiny and it might look a bit too pinky and funny, but it never really mattered to us once we had the food
Good with kids or parties
FOOD — average — this time we were really disappointed, but other times we loved it
SERVICE — bad — as the only waitress on the place I don’t think she managed at all, but it’s really shame she didn’t check the menu first before going to the chef and started telling us lies
TIMING — bad, had to wait a long time with nothing and no refills
VALUE — it’s not the cheapest place if something doesn’t go right, otherwise other times it was good
