I took my wife and daughter for a meal on a saturday morning. The food was enjoyable and flavoursom, however, the soft drinks were expensive and flat. The bill arrived and the owner had overcharged. On the whole I enjoyed the experience, and would go again.

Old fashioned in a good way, Bella Napoli offers home-cooked food in a homely environment. The ravioli(home-made) is fabulous. The fillet steak is served with ordinary knives(instead of with steak knives which should be superfluous but often aren’t). We asked for rare and blue and they got it right. It was served with perfectly cooked asparagus in a well-flavoured sauce. Side vegetables were traditional: broccoli, carrots and fried potato cubes cooked to perfection(not soggy, not too crunchy) and delicious. They don’t do pizza not all Brit places sell fish and chips.

This is a little gem of a restaurant. Have been there twice now. It is family run and the owners are lovely. They are so welcoming and courteous. You are treated as special guests, not just as another table to be served. The restaurant is cosy and has a very relaxed atmosphere. The food is delicious with much more of interest to choose from than you get in chain Italian restaurants. Whilst they don’t sell pizzas, there is a huge array of meat and fish dishes and pasta dishes too. There are delicious sounding starters and main specials too. For our meal we had duck and veal dishes with vegetables on the side. The duck dish was huge. For two of us our bill came to £41 which included 3 alcoholic drinks and one pudding too. I would definitely recommend it.

My wife and I have been eating in Bella Napoli for about 6 years now, we have never had a bad meal and always get treated like one of the family. By far the best Italian in Abingdon. Matt

This is a real family run Italian restaraunt in the centre of Abingdon– a nice change from the chain restaraunts. Last time we went here we were told that the house special wine was from the family’s vineyard in Italy– and it was very nice! The food itself is always good– there is a great range of pasta which is especially good. This makes up for the fact that there are no pizzas on the menu, which is unusual for an Italian restaraunt. The place has a really nice atmosphere– it can get very busy at the weekends because it is so popular, so it is best to book a table if you are going then.

Bella Napoli is supposed to be the best Italian restaurant in Abingdon — it has won awards. It seems to be family run, and they certainly give you a warm welcome. We did not enjoy our visit. We didn’t book, and they squeezed us in(literally) to a tiny table in the hallway right next to several tables which were ‘reserved’ but remained unused throughout our visit. The head waiter rattled off the list of specials — which was so long that by the time he’d got to the end you’d forgotten the beginning. It didn’t help that he listed the starters at the same time as the main course. The food itself was good, but nothing special, and we left feeling rather disappointed with the whole experience.

The name speaks for itself: a typical Italian restraunt. With a really small interior this restraunt does well for itself, serving some quality dishes(the pasta is excellent). The one aspect that got to me was that it doesn’t serve pizza? An Italian Restraunt not serving pizza? Strange. But the other dishes they do serve make up for that negative point. The wine list is particularly good with a very broad range.
