Award winning cheese emporium, quality butcher, appealing café… I really don’t know where to start, should I begin by raving about the oodles of gorgeous cheeses and wines, the pickles,…the fresh meats(and so much of it local) or the tempting menu. Actually I think I’ll start by saying I love the fact that I could sit at a clean table surrounded by the above provisions(and the shell of a proper mini!) and enjoy a pleasant lunch. It’s obvious that this establishment is very proudly local and they have won many awards for their produce. They also run steak nights and tapas nights. The only thing that will stop me rushing back here frequently would be the café prices which were a trifle higher than I like to pay but next time I want to buy someone a foodie gift from Yorkshire this is definitely where I will be heading.

I came across this company at a business meeting, the leaflet said it was a cheese emporium specializing in all types of local cheese, award winning pork pies and a butchers selling local produce — they also make pork pie or cheese wedding cakes! They also have a café/restraunt so I was really looking forward to paying them a visit and today was the day! Great, fab place for fresh food. I bought 3 types of cheese: Yorkshire Brie £4, Fountains Gold and Fine fettle just over £2 each for modest size pieces, all really nice. I bought some 50year old Balsamic Vinegar at £15 which tastes unbelievable and some Shropshire crackers. I also bought the biggest merangues I have ever seen at £2 each plus some steak and sausage from the butchers. None of the goods are cheap but the quality deserves the price. The staff were great and so were the coffee’s. Lots of other products — Well worth a visit and a nice ride out in the car.
