Innovative delicious lunch with my wife. She had the asparagus with Cumbrian ham as a starter and the monkfish for her main. I had the salmon and caviar starter and duck breast. All perfectly prepared with extras like their black pudding bites. For desert we shared the English strawberries. Yum. Highly recommended!

This place doesn’t look much from the outside and if you blink you’d miss it, but don’t let appearances fool you. Set underneath a little victorian building this restaurant oozes character and has so much history behind it you could probably write a book on it. The staff are very friendly and the Chef is an absolute legend! I had some of the nicest food I’ve ever had and thats saying something as I’ve eaten in a lot of places. Because of the size and popularity of this place I would definatley recommend booking a table in advance. If you’re ever in Ambleside make an effort to try this restaurant!
