The Boot and Slipper is one of those large chain type pubs. The staff are friendly, and fast workers, so you get served quite quickly usually even though it can get pretty busy in there(but I think that’s partly because they have lots of staff). They were even happy enough to advise us of a nice cheaper place nearby. The toilets are clean and the general area is well maintained. I couldn’t give this pub 5 stars though because of the high prices. It’s one of the most expensive pubs I’ve been to and I used to live in London! That said, the food is pretty good value, it’s not the greatest in the world, but it’s nice enough and comes in decent portion sizes. They have a cigarette machine too, which they put in after the smoking ban came in which is a bit weird, but I suppose it is a talking point! They have a large car park, and a reasonably sized beer garden with benches which is pleasant in the summer months.

Another of the Chef and Brewer chain. Unfortunately I do not find this one as good as others in the chain that I have visited. The usual food, in fact pretty much the same menu as at all of them I think. The quality has been a bit hit and miss for me, though their burgers are decent. The puddings have been a bit of a let down specifically the rhubarb crumble which is more just rhubarb and custard and only a smidgen of crumble. Still, it is pretty good value as they do a two course menu for £10.
