Having performed here and been an audience member, I’ve seen this space from both sides of the divide. From an audience point of view, it’s a good little theatre(emphasis on little) it has about 180 seats which are reasonably comfortable although not really so for taller people, there is a disabled access seat up at the back in the middle, which has a great view of the stage. The acoustics and sound system are okay, and the stage space is reasonably big, around 32 feet wide, so there is room for lots of different types of performances here. There are plenty of dressing rooms, and a large green room and kitchen, and if you wish to, you can hire the main performance space for a sit down function, as the seating folds away backwards into the wall, which makes for a very multi-purpose room. It is getting a bit dated, this theatre and needs some elements replaced, repaired and modernised, but that probably won’t happen due to the brand spanking new theatre that has been built down the road.
