Quality French cooking. Here you’ll find food beautifully cooked and loaded with flavour. I have only had the carvery lunch there but on every occasion it was a treat, no matter the dish. Spoil yourself finish off with the Poire Belle Helene a real treat! One note of caution, however because of the nature of the building no disabled access is available or, probably, possible. The restaurant entrance is up a flight of steps and the toilet area is downstairs. The above was then; what follows is the outcome of a recent visit for lunch during second week of December 2010. On previous visits there was a selection of 5 or 6 dishes. Not today. Three dishes rare roast beef, lamb and turkey were on offer. No fish dish was available. My wife opted for the turkey but found it too dry sickeningly so she said. Our friend and I took the roast beef. Both of us were unimpressed. I usually eat my beef well done but this was rare and fatty. Not at all to my taste. Added to which no mashed potatoes were available. This was a disappointing lunch. Regrettably my previous 4* rating is severely downgraded to 2*. Later I learned that the restaurant had changed hands; the French influence was no longer there. Maybe things will change for the better.
