Good independent supermarket which sells a huge range of products. Just as you’d expect they sell every grocery item imaginable — meats, fresh fruit and veg, breads, deli items and they have a very good off licence too. I have occasionally been disappointed with McAnerney’s unfortunately. On a recent trip I found their one offering of halloumi cheese extortionately priced. Hence I visited another supermarket and picked up some halloumi for a fraction of the price. Good quality products but expensive.

Its not all that often that I am surprised, but I was REALLY surprised with McAnerneys supermarket in Armagh. Don’t get me wrong, it is not one of those massive Sainsbury type efforts spread over 24 hectares, but this is a damn good shop! The first section is the same as every other small supermarket, blah blah, shower gels, cabbage, tinned fruit, blah blah but man, you gotta check out the deli section at the back! WOWEE! I have never seen a better, fresher selection of Goats Cheese, olives, fresh fish and meat, organic produce, whole meal pastas, deli salad bar and a load more beside. I was so impressed I cant wait to go back. McAnerneys kick Tescos butt for sure! Ample car parking and easy to get to this is a real gem in the otherwise abysmal ‘city’ of Armagh, if a few other traders were as forward thinking as these guys the big guns in the food industry would need to watch out. A great find and a shop I will definitely return to. First Class.
