The best shop for miles. I am only writing this having just read the review left by «happy mummy»! I can not believe that this is about the same shop that I visit at least once a week. The girls are always so helpful and it is my first and last destination in Ashby if i want the best flowers for miles or an unusual gift, or sometimes just a coffee and a natter. I am sorry«Happy Mummy» but you have got this so wrong and it is so unlike me to feel so incensed that i feel compelled to write this now.

On a corner plot Black and Blossom is a large building — light, bright and airy. A combination of a specialist food shop and a delicatessen, it is an interesting store. The products are out of the ordinary, something a bit different, perfect for a gift. A small range of sweets and chocolates included such delights as Violet petals and Hershey chocolate. The deli had a limited range which included olives, anchovies and handmade chocolate desserts. Other products include pasta, champagne, infused cooking oils and snacks like Harissa flavoured nuts etc. Handcrafted pestle and mortars, heart shaped chopping boards too. Spartan stocked shelves and niche market products, mean the prices are fairly high, still good for that something different though.

For the pinnacle of rudeness, Black & Blossom is THE place to visit in Ashby de la Zouch. You are always met with a sneer as they look down their noses at you. They continue to further their awful reputation in the community with this attitude. The women look at you as if you’re a piece of dirt on their shoe, rather than a paying customer who keeps them in business. To achieve the coldest welcome, try bringing your children with you into the store. We have decided to never spend any more money in this store and speaking to our friends, we increasingly find we’re not the only ones. Lots of shop-owners we have spoken to also confirm that many of their customers are Black & Blossom refugees. No thanks.
