This is just a WH Smiths, just like any other WH Smiths across the whole country, but somehow this shop feels more welcoming, and I’ve no idea why! Cut price books welcome you as you enter and there’s always a bargain to be had, particularly on the natural history and cookery books. It is also has the usual range of stationery and vast range of cards, for every possible occasion you can think of. This particular ‘smiths has a good range of cut price DVDs and occasionally CDs, where you can always pick up a bargain. The chart DVDs and CDs though are seriously overpriced, compared to internet retailers. The magazine section is comprehensive for such a small shop, so if theres a magazine you’re looking for, you’ll probably get it here. A great local shop and a must visit, when we’re in Ashby.

You get in this store exactly what you would expect from a WH smiths. Games, books, stationery. The store is well laid out and there are payment counters at the front and rear of the store. All the latest newspapers are available as are cigarettes.

the store is well stocked but the aisle are a bit close together and get very busy.
often a certain newspaper does a book promotion and u can use the voucher to get if half price.
as i’m a bit of a book worm I’m often in here having a nose about.
