Arrived before the store opened so I thought I’d get some breakfast before I hit the shop and bought multiple items not on my shopping list! I have an ikea family card(free to join just pick one up in store) so my breakfast inc tea and toast cost me £2.60 which is a bargain it was hot, hash browns nice and crispy, good amount of beans so I’m not complaining. Resto is self service so you get your own tea, cutlery and sauces etc and grab a table. You also self clear. Remember people this is a furniture store not a gourmet restaurant so don’t be expecting fine dining!

While shopping in IKEA, I called in this resturant, IKEA is supposed to be great for food, with it’s swedish cultcher but honestly, my experience was the opposite. Like in the store, they is so many things in swedish and not in english. They is long lines hence it is hard to find out allergen information before queing, a member of staff said I could cut ahead of them and ask but they had to go to the back of the queue as they was no one to serve them. The allergen information was quite confusing with it not being set out in any order. Free hot beverages can be gave to you, as well as special prices on many things if you are an IKEA Family card holder. I ordered a Salmon meal with hollandaise sauce and my friend ordered a vegetable curry, both gluten free. The Hollandaise sauce looked and tasted like vomit and the salmon could also of been much better. My friend’s curry was far too spicey for him, he couldn’t eat it and so could I, I even had to wash down a small bite with a bid gulp of liquid, only to find out it is fizzy, I am a big hater of fizzy drinks and i thought it was fruit juice. This is another reason why mainly swedish writing is bad. This just topped off my IKEA experience, I was very dissapointed with the store and then again with the resturant which is supposed to be so popular. I feel this place deserves one star as it can be quite pricey, you have to go to multiple queues, they are short staffed, the allergen information needs improving, they need more staff you can just ask questions too and the food was unedible and extremley poor.
